Ideas for something fun/day trips with the kids
We are having way to many days just staying home and for our mental sanity I need to start getting out more. Where could I go with my kids (ages 9 & 12) for a fun day out while still staying safe? Beaches, parks, etc? Would like to start making a list of ideas. TIA!

Check out state parks. We just went to Hempstead lake park and they have playground / lake to walk around.
Bear mountain has hiking trails.
Try a different beach.
Six flags Safari.

Ideas for something fun/day trips with the kids
State parks as noted above, greenport (skating rink should open soon), restaurants etc..fire island (ferry or walk to it), preserves for hiking/walking, old fashioned kick the can game, maybe stay overnight if you can in the Catskills in an airbnb or inn, fishing, rent a paddleboard or kayak and go to a local beach, overnight camping trip to Malouf's Mountain stop in their town for lunch/dinner

Ideas for something fun/day trips with the kids
I just recently took my daughters to the drive through safari at Great Adventure. It really was so much fun. Afterward, we ate lunch, outside, at a restaurant in Freehold. On the way home, we stopped at the parking lot along the Belt Parkway and walked the path to the bridge. It was a perfect way to spend the day
