idea for teaching a kid to use real cup
This is my mom's idea - but she says to give a plastic cup with cold water in the tub to drink - this way they don't like the cold water spilling on them
i have been working with my son from 6 months and he is doing pretty good with a cup some days- he is 8 months - it is probaby much esier to start later but my kid is obessed with cups

I always give Ezra a cup in the tub too. He loves to drink from it in there. I read that it's easier to transition a BF baby directly to a cup.

Re: idea for teaching a kid to use real cup
Don't know if this works , but I saw this in One Step Ahead's catalog and thought the concept was kinda neat.. It is supposed to train them to drink at the right angle..
A neater, smarter, toddler training cup! When kids are learning to drink from a cup, it all comes down to angles. With most sippy cups, toddlers still must tip their heads back to drink, bottle style...no lessons learned there. But this training cup is different: the interior is tilted, so little heads aren't. Spill-resistant; dishwasher safe. Holds 7 fl. oz. For ages 9 months and up. For more uses, get TILTY Lids, including Smoothie (for thick drinks), Travel (a solid cap), or Slow Flow (for beginners). Extra Lids sold separately.
