Hey ladies. One of my co-workers told me that her daughter who is preggers saw something on the news the other day that it's dangerous for pregnant women to eat ice cream, especially soft-serve. Do you think there is any truth in this?
I do think there is truth in this for sure. Probably not likely but def possible. Makes sense, soft cheese can be an issue, so soft ice cream, makes sense to me based on the temps being lower to keep it soft.
The issue with soft-serve is if the machines aren't cleaned properly, then they can harbor bacteria, like listeria. This is not the case with regular hard ice cream.
I have been avoiding the soft-serve as well as other foods that might have listeria. IMO, I can give these foods up for a few months, I don't want to take any chances at all, its just not worth it to me. Although I have been dying for a carvel cone... I'll just have to wait until January.
