ibs?

I noticed that many of you have IBS, as I do. :(
Have any of you found something that works for you?
Have you tried the Activia 14 day challenge? I just started it this week and it makes me feel kind of nauseous.

THanks!

Re: ibs?

Good question. I'm afraid to try the Activia challenge b/c any changes in my diet effects my stomach. Yuck! Let me know if it works.
I just try to stick to foods that won't upset my stomach... Of course I cheat once in a while b/c I can't live without my sweets. DH makes fun of me b/c I tell him I can eat ice-cream, but we have to do it close to the house... (close to my bathroom) LOL

Re: ibs?

the activa 14 day challenge is a joke. sorry if that sounds harsh, but i saw a nutritionist who said it takes a few months for enough acidipholous to build up in your system to make a difference.

i have ibs-d and it S U C K S. I will not be on for most of today - but wanted to comment and i'll check this thread when i get back to NJ tonight (VERY late) - attending a wedding.

I have been on everything they make for it and NOTHING works.

Immodium is hit & miss for me - and if i take it - i have to take 6-8 and that's still no guarantee.

there for me, is no 'good food' or 'bad food'. ANY type of food is bad for me. I could have 3 pieces of popcorn...

do you girls notice that when AF is here - it's WORSE???? For me, it's MUCH worse...direct deposit time...

Re: ibs?

I have IBD..crohns. I sometimes take Questran. It works differently than immodium. It's a prescription though. It binds to the bile in your gut to help with D. You take it with some OJ, mix it in and drink.

For the most part stress is the one key factor for me. I've had surgery for it and didn't get a good remission. It's different than IBS though but they do share the same symptoms.

Same here...I just stick to what I know won't upset my stoamch, but I still go through cycles of tough stomach issues. I have not tried Activia, but have thought about it. Let us know how it goes!

Re: ibs?

Hi everyone,

I have read the above posts and it's like it is me talking! I used to OD on Immdium just to get through the day or being out at a function. It was horrible!!!!! And I tried all meds they gave me and nothing worked.
Then back in March my dr. made me try Align. It is still a daily probiotic, but it is my lifesaver!!!!
I sware I should do commercials for it!!
It has helped me soooo much. I no longer take immodium before I go out and I rarely have any stomach or D issues.
The only thing, is it is pretty expensive. $30 for a month supply. But when you figure how much you spend on Immodium, it's almost the same if not less.
Here, please check it it!!! Good Luck!!

Re: ibs?

WOW!

Is it safe to take while TTC/Pregnancy?

$30 would be well worth the worrying!

THANKS!
