I was waiting for this to happen
So DD finally jumped out of her crib, I say finally bc she's been climbing up and it was only a matter of time, plus I know this is the age they start "jumping" Poor baby was so screaming, I think she was scared more than hurt
and of course I almost had a heart attack, I thought I was going to when I heard the bang and her screaming:( So now what? what's the next step? We have a convertible crib, but she is definitely not ready for a toddler bed yet, (maybe this summer when she is closer to 2 or 2 years old). What are our options? pillows on the floor?

Re: I was waiting for this to happen
I hope she's okay (and Mommy too!)
We actually just took down the side of DD's crib (convertible as well) as she was climbing out too. She'd rather jump on the mattress now (which is something she never really did before) and it is a bit of a transition for us. She hates putting herself to sleep in her bed when she has the freedom to get out now. Most nights she wakes up and tries to run around but there have been a few where she has woken up a bit scared getting used to her new set up

Re: I was waiting for this to happen
I am not a mom but...my girlfriend did the tent over her daughter's crib and it worked wonderfully.
Neither of my nieces were big on their crib so the Tent wasn't even an option so my sister put them in a twin size mattress and box spring on the floor with guard rails and before either of them were two. That worked for them.

I just don't see DD falling asleep in a crib that has no side and knowing her she'll get out of bed in the middle of the night and start running around Oh God I don't know what we are going to do I guess I am going to start putting the pillows down for now and see how it goes Oh and we are both doing well. I have a heart monitor that I have to wear for a month, and I thing the reading was off the chart when I heard the sound and saw DD on the floor

Crib tent. DS was 19 months or so when he lifted his little leg and the foot rested on top of the rail in front of my very eyes. He was not ready for a toddler bed. I got him a crib tent immediately the next day.

Believe me it has not been a smooth transition so far I would have bought the tent but stupid me figured now or never (well, with #2 on the way at least)
I ordered her the aerobed for kids for sleepovers and I think I may try letting her sleep on that to see how she does. Right now she'll wake up and come running to me to sleep with me. I keep the gate closed in the hallway so she can't get into anything. She loves her cot at daycare though, I think I might steal it
Good Luck!

Re: I was waiting for this to happen
I just bought 2 crib tents---one of the twins managed to flip out-not get hurt but I heard him slam down, I went upstairs to him DANCING! It is safer for a tent them walking around at night. Mine did not mind it. Get ready-they are not cheap..and hard to find. Only buy buy baby online or in the store in Huntington. good luck! It will give u peace of mind.

Thanks so much, I actually just looked it up and oh my they really are expensive considering the fact that it's just a TENT anyway, after seeing the pic I know for sure that there is no way DD will stay in the crib if I put that on there. even DH said so when he saw the pic. lol. Oh well I guess we'll either try pillows for now or convert the crib into a day
