I think it's happening again.

Hi guys...
..I don't post much, but do come on here often to read about how brave you all are and I am rooting for all of you!

My husband and I have been through 5 chemicals and one blighted ovum during the course of a year. We have been seeing a RE (who has really not told us much other than perscribing Metformin and diagnosing me with PCOS)..Anyways, in July I had to have a D&C for the blighted ovum. It was the closest I have gotten to a "normal" pregnancy.
Yesterday was my first positive HPT since so as soon as I got it the doctor sent me for blood work. HCG came back 24. My last AF was 9/28. I am thinking that this number is low and this pregnancy may suffer the same fate. This is why I don't even get excited when I see "Pregnant" on the test. I almost know what the outcome is :-/ Please give me your opinion if the number is low or if perhaps this may be okay.

Thanks and good luck to you all.

Re: I think it's happening again.

Hi - the number does seem low, but it is a number. I htink the important tthing to remember is not where it starts but how it behaves as the days go on. when is your next blood test?

Have you considered seeing a different dr for a second opinion?

Re: I think it's happening again.

Thanks for the reply.
I have another blood test Monday.

I moved to Southwest FL about a year ago and I don't really know the DRs too well down here. He told me the metformin would help... we'll see.. :-/

Re: I think it's happening again.

If this one doesn't work...I would definitely get a second and third opinion. If they agree with this Dr. then stay with him, but if they come up with something different you may want to switch RE's.

Meanwhile, I am praying this is a sticky baby...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I think it's happening again.

First good luck with this one. Just hope for the best-cautiously optimistic is the way my DH and I are when this happens to us(I've had 3 m/c and 1 ectopic)

Should something happen you need to IMMEDIATELY have immune testing-if you would like to talk to me about it please FM. At the very least schedule an appointment with SIRM who will test you for some immune issues. Also join Yahoo's immunology board-the ladies there are unbelievable.

Re: I think it's happening again.

Thank you guys for all of your help. After what has happened before it's so hard not to be negative. I'll keep you posted as to the results of Monday's blood work. If we lose this one again I am going to be seriouslly upset. I don't know how much more of this DH and I can take!

Really good info. I'd also ask for a chromosome study. Chat Icon
