I seem to be having a brain blank...
How long can sperm live? DH and I BD'd last night. (I was thinking we won't again until my IUI if it'll be on Friday... but not sure yet). So if they tell us to trigger tomorrow, I think we shouldn't BD before the IUI again... but plan to either later on that night or the next day. Does that sound ok?
Last time we weren't allowed to BD at all after my IUI b/c my dr. said my DH could damage my ovaries b/c they were so large from hyperstimming.

We had to abstain for 48 hours prior to IUI #1. After that watch out!

LOL- thanks.
I know they said no longer than 4 days before the IUI I think... or something like that. (Which is why I strategically planned it even though DH had to get up REALLY early this morning and thought I was nuts b/c he was so tired  )

They always told us to do it up until the night of the trigger (if you are doing a trigger that is). And then to BD the night of IUI and the next morning.
Honestly, I was always sore after IUI w/trigger that night and swollen. So not in the mood.

hmm- that would put it at 36 hours... do you think that's a good enough time frame for dh to 'recharge'  lol
we'll have to see how this all plays out. I figured last night was a good night assuming sperm live for 4 days after BDing and I think they do, right? I'm so dumb w/ some of this stuff--- I forget basic reproductive 101

36-48 hours should be fine if your DH has good counts. I have done IUI's with only 36 hours of abstinence and there has been no problem. HTH and good luck!

Sperm can live up to 5 days in fertile CM.
What they tell us is to abstain no more than 5 days and no less than 2 days before IUI.

When I had my IUI this is how it went down: 
Monday - Saw my egg, went home and BD with Pre-Seed (morning hours - maybe around 11 then abstained until IUI)
Tuesday - Trigger at 9 am
Wednesday - IUI at 9:30am
Wednesday night - BD with Pre-Seed
Thursday morning - BD with Pre-Seed
Thursday night - BD with Pre-Seed
Friday - No more BD..............I had enough!!!
Something worked, I am 18 weeks preggers!!
