I need your advice PLEASE - WWYD?
I'm really confused as to what.to do and I could really use some advice:
I am scheduled for an HSG this Wednesday morning - which would be CD 11.
I usually O on CD 12-14 so I figured we would still be able to get in some right after the HSG and still have a shot this month.
Well I just got a high reading on my CBEFM today at CD7 (usually don't get first high until CD10). I'm worried that I am going to peak and ovulate early and miss my shot bc of the HSG. I was told absolutely NO intercourse up until the procedure. I really don't want this month to be a total wash.
Should I cancel the HSG and get to OR
Should I wait it out until Wednesday, have the HSG done, and hope and pray I haven't O'd yet and we still have a shot?
TIA for all of your help. I'm really stressing out over this.

If I were in your shoes I would have the HSG done only because if there is a blockage or something you would be able to find out now and not waste another month. KWIM?
If you cancel the HSG and this cycle does not work then you are in the same boat as you would be if you had the HSG.

Thank you for your response. Have you had an HSG? Do you think it would be a bad idea to BD right after the HSG?

ITA with this. Better to know now rather than put it off another month. I have had an HSG. I don't think they said anything about not BDing for a certain amount of time. I didn't really feel like BDing right after it but I guess we could have. I would ask the Dr who does it and then see how you feel. It effects everyone differently. I was a little crampy but nothing more. Good luck!

Thanks. My Dr actually told me no BD at all for the month , but I checked around with others and no one else heard of this so I'm gonna go with the majority here. It just figures that I would O earlier this month and I'm worried that if I did conceive, that there may be some dye still up there and maybe it could have some bad effects.
Maybe I am over thinking this

I had the HSG done a few weeks ago. Everyone's experience is different. Take some advil an hour before you go. I had a bad reaction to the dye and was in incredible pain that started about 3 hours after the procedure and lasted the entire day. I didn't have any blockages so I know the pain was not a result of that. The next day I had some discomfort and the day after that I was fine.
ETA: The dr. did not tell me I couldn't for a month after the procedure he just said I couldn't before the procedure.

Thank you. I have a script for an antibiotic of some sort I'm supposed to take starting 2 days before the procedure. Do they tell you right then and there if there were any blockages?

Re: I need your advice PLEASE - WWYD?
The radiologist who did the HSG told me there were no blockages. Then my OB called me a few days later to go over the results more in depth. They know if you have blockages right away because the dye can't get through so I think they would tell you. I haven't heard of taking antibiodiics before or not BDing for a whole month after. You definitely can't BD before b/c you can't be pregnant. That's why they usually like to do it at 8-10 days into your cycle. I took a few advil an hour before I went and that was it. I think you will be fine.
