i need to vent

I was never sick with my last pregnancy but this one I feel so sick all the time and so exhausted. I just sit on the couch all day watching tv with my 3 yr old ds. I feel so guilty not taking him out but I wake up tired and go to sleep tired. I heave all day and half the time its not even food I throw up, even tho I eat, its a nasty clear liquid . My dh doesn't understand and he's driving me crazy. Im only 8 weeks and I have people telling me this could last the whole pregnancy. Anyone else feel this bad and this tired?? Chat Icon

I felt terrible up until about 12 weeks-then my nausea started to subside- by 14 weeks I was feeling pretty good- now at nearly 17 weeks I rarely have nausea and I am not exhausted all the time any more--it is likely you will start to feel better as you enter you second trimester. If the nausea is bad take to you OB about taking B6 or zofran- you should not have to suffer without any relief.

At 3 years old your DS won't even remember this time so try to let the guilt go. And even if he does, it's most likely only a little while longer before you're feeling better. I started feeling better and getting my energy back by 10-11 weeks. Stay optimistic!

Right now it's important to take care of yourself and if your body is telling you to rest you need to do it. Your DH needs to step up whether he "gets" it or not. Just tell him what he needs to do to help you. DH didn't always know what I needed so gave him very specific requests.

I hope you start feeling better soon! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It won't last all pregnancy. But if you really feel that bad, talk to your OB about getting Zofran.
