I need major sleep help for my baby!
My son is 6 months old and up until last week has been sleeping decently. Usually down for the night by 10, getting up once at 4 just for the paci, then waking up around 8 for the day.
He had a cold last week so he was thrown WAY OfF of his schedule. He now is up every 2 hous at night And I have to rock him to sleep, which I never had to do before. If I put him down drowsy, he screams bloody murder. I am at my wit's end. He is over his cold so he isn't sick anymore.
Can I do CIO when he is still BF? I mainly give him BM bottles and only put him at the breast at night. He has abut 2-3 bottles of formula as well. What happens if he wakes up in the middle of the night? My DH doesn't want to wake up the whole building (we live in an apt) so I can't really let him cry like a maniac. Any other pointers? If you got this far thank you

Re: I need major sleep help for my baby!
Maybe he just needs to learn to settle himself down again, since he was doing well before.
I always tried to feed my babies a lot during the day, so they didn't wake to eat at night at that age (they were FF). I would also try to put him to bed earlier.
Do you have white noise in his room? That can help settle him. I guess you just have to figure out what is waking him- hunger? teething? Or maybe he just needs help getting settled down.
I wouldnt let him CIO, but I would take my time running to him when he wakes, give him a few minutes to see if he stops on his own. Also, I would try soothing him back to sleep without feeding a bottle or breast, since he may be waking up expecting it for comfort.

Maybe it's teething. One of my boys would start screaming in the middle of the night around 6 months old. We couldn't figure out what was wrong, changed diaper, tried bottle, paci, nothing would settle him. My friend said try orajel. He was a like a different baby.
