I need help with healthy choices...
i have been eating crap foods lately aND i feel gross about myself. can anyone suggest some good things they eat to stay healthy. i feel so sick after i eat fried foods (which i crave)

I eat a lot of fruit and salad. I'm not the healthiest of eaters due to all my strange cravings (I want breakfast all day long), but with DH it's hard to get away with. I try to do pasta with veggies, oil and garlic, bbq chicken breast, cottage cheese, yogurt, turkey burgers or meatloaf...obviously not all together

Llike Jodi, I do a lot of fruit, cottage cheese, salads (almost every day ). But, I do get bad once in a while.
I love having granola bars or chewy granola bars. I have one yogurt a day, so that's another healthy option. also, I have taken to making smoothies. Cold salads are good, like salmon and bean salads, carrott and raisin salad, stuff like that.

I'm a vegan - so there is NO way i can eat crappy and be healthy alone, let alone carrying a child - so far - I have been drinking fresh veggie juices (not for the taste - but everything tastes crappy anyway to me right now) - lots of calcium in greens... also fruit, salad, tofu... quinoa, and tonight i had BBQ tempeh, broccoli and organic corn bread...
Its very hard for me to eat breakfast, this AM I had a roll, but I'm hoping to be a little healthier at breakfast....

I have egg whites with spinach on an english muffin most mornings (during the week), banana every day, nuts or granola bars for a snack, and usually at least one salad a day (with dinner or lunch). Then I have different things with my lunch or dinner - but those have been my staples for the past few weeks and I haven't really gained any "body" weight. We've been grilling a lot lately too so that helps.

I tried to follow this every day. It was given to me by my DR. I tried to but every day I don't necessarily follow it to the T. I've been trying to eat healthier....but from time to time..you got to have something that it's not too good for you....Gotta keep some kind of balance.... I also try to eat smaller portions whenever I can. At first, since I've always been used to eat my three meals only...I'm not the munch type girlie...but now since I got this list at the beginning of the pregnancy, I tried to spread things out and have these servings...sometimes I don't have all the servings recommended but I try to have at least one of each. I also keep this document in my computer desktop at work as a reminder so that I know what I should be eating.... Every day, you should have: ·6 or more servings of bread, cereal, rice, or pasta ·3 to 5 servings of vegetables ·2 to 4 servings of fruit and dairy ·2 to 3 servings of meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, or nuts ·At least 8 glasses of water

I usually eat oatmeal, string cheese, cottage cheese, lean red meat (seems to be my 's favorite), spinach, steamed vegetables, hummus. I have been trying to increase my protein intake.

When I snack I try to reach for fruit, nuts, cut up veggies, granola bars, or cereal. When I get a craving for chips I try to eat the baked kind. When I want ice cream I either have low fat ice cream, frozen yogurt, and Italian ice or I bought low fat ceamsicles. I don't really deprive myself anything, I just try to have a healthier version of what I really want.

I eat a lot of peanut butter on whole wheat toast. I'm not crazy about meat so in order to get protein I rely on PB.

I have cereal with a banana in the am so I have my milk, otherwise I have a bagel or toast, lunch is usually a salad or tuna sandwich or turkey, snacks I have peanuts, granola bars fruit or veggies dinner is whatever DH and I feel like eating usually out too tired after work to cook.

Since becoming pregnant, I started to hate cooked veggies. I used to like them. But now I eat raw green beans as a snack during the day to at least get SOME veggie in there. Other than that, I pretty much eat whatever I want and take an extra calcium supplement in addition to my prenatal.
