I need a new RE!

UPDATE:
I changed the name of this post because it seems Dr. Pillitteri won't be a good match for me.

I need suggestions for an RE who will take Empire BCBS. I would like their office to be around Dr. B's office, but can go a bit east or west if need be. Roslyn/Manhasset area is too far from work.

Any ideas? And fast too, I anticipate I will get AF Saturday-Sunday so would like to start CD3 testing with a new doctor.

*******

At the end of this month I can no longer see Dr. Braverman because of insurance reasons, I can see him again in January once I get new insurance with out of network, so for now I need a new doctor.

Dr. B suggested Dr. Pillitteri. Also this is who delivered Sandra's baby and she absolutely loves him, but told me he isn't for everyone and can be laid back, but is great.

I would like to hear it all, FM me if you're more comfortable too. I am so sad I'm leaving Dr. B and hope I am pregnant now and that my stupid 7th IUI worked.

Thanks girls!

I don't know, I didn't know that. He does IUI's, and Sandra had said he was both.

Shoot should I go with someone else more focused?

He's my OB. I really like him. There is a bit of a wait at his office, but I find you get that anywhere. He does do IUIs. He did three for me, but I'm not sure if he does injectables with them. He only did clomid and after 3 he's the one who sent me to Dr. B. I did my first round with Dr. B. and was very happy with him, but for insurance reasons I had to leave. I went to another RE and plan on returning to Dr. Pillitteri when i get my BFP.

Well since I have been with Dr. B since March and already did 4 injectible cycles and never did clomid, It seems Dr. Pillitteri would be going backwards for me!

I already have a great obgyn I have seen since 18 years old.

Darn it, I need suggestions for an RE who will take Empire BCBS. I would like thier office to be around Dr. B's office, but can go a bit east or west if need be. Roslyn/Manhasset area is too far from work.

Any ideas?

Does LI IVF accept Empire BCBS? They have offices in Melville and Lake Success. Not sure where you are coming from though.

When i thought i couldnt continue with Dr. B, my research led me to Dr. Hershlag. I have no idea what his stance is on immune issues though. If not, I *believe* Dr Tortoriello treats immune issues but he's in Manhattan.

I went to LI IVF in Melville. They have early morning monitoring (starting at 6:30am) which is very convenient if you have to get to work.

I have heard great things about Dr. Hershlag, he is just too far for me when I am coming from work.

I can just make it with Dr. B on my lunch breaks.

LI IVF may be a good bet for me with their early monitoring hours, and location is good too.

Who is there Doctor there? Aren't there several?

Re: I need a new RE!

You could probably go a bit further than you think. Clinics have early mornign montioring hours that are usually in and out type. I never was at mine for more than 15-30 mins.

LI iVf has multiple doctors and they just merged with east coast fertility. I see dr. Brenner but have also had a great experience with Dr. Kenigsburg. Good luck!!

What do you mean go further out?

From work to Syosset where Dr. B is takes like 15 minutes, and with his long waits I am usually about 1 1/2 hours from door to door back at work, which is okay, but not ideal.

I like the idea of early morning hours because then it wouldn't get in the way of work.

But Mineola is pretty far because I used to work there and to commute from my house was about 40 minutes during rush hour.

further out meaning outside of the radius you are currently looking. I went to Columbia and their monitoring hours started at 7am I think maybe even 630. So I was never late to work.

Many of the "clinics have way better hours than Dr B and the wait time is nothing compared to his office. I left partially because of the wait.

I went to North Shore and Dr. Hershlag was one of my doctors.Chat Icon him! He did my ER on St. Patrick's Day and said I bet none of your friends are doing this todayChat Icon. He told me to start thinking about how many future children we wanted. I said I just hope this works. He winked at me and said that he had a good feeling it will work.

I got pregnant and am 29w with Chat Icon Chat Icon. He kissed me when he found out and said he told me so! Anyway, when you're doing IVF there, you wind up seeing all the doctors based on when you need to come. I actually like that because you have several doctors consulting on your case.

I always had 7am monitoring appts. and I have never waited more than 10 min. They usually took me right at 7. I know this may still be a bit far for you, but just wanted to let you know. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. GL!

I also went to North Shore - although Dr. Hershlag was the one doctor I didn't get a chance to see during my IVF cycle. I was very pleased there and very happy to say that I am 30 weeks pregnant. I always had the early appt b/c they new I worked in the city. I was in and out in 15 min tops. They didn't even have me pay copays in the morning b/c they new that took extra time.

Re: I need a new RE!

Dr. Hershlag was the first RE I looked into and tried to make an appointment with, unfortunately I work at 8am in Smithtown, so even leaving at 7 am from Manhasset would not get me to work on time.

I made an appointment at LI IVF for a consult next Thurday with Dr. Satu Kuokkanen because stupid me wasn't thinking i'd need a consult first before treatment. So I think I may still go to Dr. B for CD3 and 10 testing so I can literally not miss a cycle.

I am not that upset because I have Oct-Dec of just getting my 8-10th IUI's and in January I can go back to Dr. B and start with IVF.

So I guess I just need someone to give me sonos, prescrible me meds and do the IUI's, Dr. B did the ground work already.

On their website they say they have a Huntington office at Huntington Hospital, do you know if I would be able to get treatment there?

I totally forgot they have other offices, because Manhasset was easier for me. Yes, you can get treatment there. Not sure if all the doctors go there, but I know Drs. Chu and Rausch definitely are. I've seen them all so I really don't think you can wrong with any of them.
