I must be a fat pig - lol

Two times in the past week, strangers have commented on food I was purchasing. It seems so odd - I certainly didn't think I was going overboard:

One day last week I stopped at a deli to pick up a salad for lunch. While I was there, I also got a small cup of fruit salad and a container with 3 hard boiled eggs - both of which I was planning on leaving in the refrigerator at work to have over the next day or 2. The guy who was making the salad and rang up my purchase was chatting with me and just being friendly, but when he saw the fruit salad and eggs, said, "that can't all possibly be for you!" I was like, "uh, yeah. . . whatever."

Pretty much forgot about the first incident until last night. DH was away and so I was on my own for dinner. I was out running errands and on the way home decided to get Boston Market to bring home. When I walked in, there was one woman there, in the middle of placing her order - which was a large order, and seemed like it was for a group of people. Another cashier came over to take my order - a chicken meal with 2 sides - pretty normal, if you ask me. The cashier asked if I wanted a drink or dessert - both of which I declined. The woman than looked at me and said, "with all that food, how could anyone eat dessert." I looked at her like but didn't say anything.

I actually think it's kind of funny, but part of me is like, really, what the hell? I mean, could I stand to lose a few pounds - sure, but it's not like I'm huge (and even if, WTH?!?!) I can't ever remember anyone commenting on the amount of food I've purchased ever before. People are just weird

that is really bizarre. A lot of times i'll order things for later. Like the fruit or eggs, may be a snack later rather than with my meal.

And the boston marker order sounds like a perfectly normal meal. What anyone would make for themselves at home.

but maybe at boston market they are generous with their servings. so she was probably commenting on that more than your order.

im almost certain that ifyou were overweight, they would never comment on what you got. so take it as a compliment

I think it is an attempt at small talk, but since people skills are lacking in most people nowadays, that attempt fell flat.

i firmly believe people are so got damn miserable in their own lives they LIVE to demean or be rude to others.

I swear i'm getting more b!tchy by the minute and would've told both of them where to go. My 40's have really flipped the got-no-filter switch.

Sometimes I think people say things to make conversation and when they do their comments which are really idle chatter can be annoying.

I was picking up some sliced ham for my daughter's lunch yesterday - she likes a certain type of ham which I would rather not give her but I appease her and she gets one "sliver" in her sandwich for lunch. So I ordered 4 slices at the deli counter and the guy asked me if I had mice!! I asked why and he said "well you ordered such a small amount I figured you must be feeding it to a mouse!!" I said "no its for my 10 year old DD and I hate feeding her that crap so I just give her the tiniest amount that I can get away with"!! He just raised his eye brows!!

People can be annoying with their throw away chit chat.

It actually sounds to me like you eat healthier than most people! People are idiots. I hope that lady gets diarrhea from her Boston Market.
