Thanks for the list! Damn girl I didn't think there was that many different plants in there.  Can't wait to see the blog about this garden bed.
Yea, I usually don't plant that densely but I really wanted a full, lush look to that bed. I did measure everything first so that when everything is mature, they'll still fit nicely and cascade over the edge of the bed slightly.
It's actually been in the works for two seasons. I started with only ferns last year and the rest is new this year. It takes patience, that's for sure.

Wow - thats great! Would i be able to use pine needles in my veggie garden? I used grass clippings this year - was a great idea until i realized that our lawn is fertilized
Although I keep reading that pine needles are acidic, I've also read that the affect is negligable on soil and pH.
I'd Google the name of the vegetable first and pine needle mulch to see if anyone has had something to say about it. I don't grow veggies, so I honestly don't know.
