I have a OB/GYN appointment tommorow.

I just made a OB/GYN appointment last week for tommorow. I know that it needed to be done but I am very nervous.

I consider this my first time I ever went to a OB/GYN. Although I went to Planned Parenthood a couple of years ago with a bad experience. I would never go back there.

I am going to Suffolk OB/GYN to see Dr. Edwards. I heard so many wonderful and good things about him.

I am nervous because this is all very new to me. I've been told to wait until I'm married. That has happen in September and I am still nervous but we both really want to start a family.

If anyone can calm me down and give me any advice that would be wonderful.
Thank you so much in advance.

Re: I have a OB/GYN appointment tommorow.

I know it feels nerve racking, but the visit really isn't that bad. I hate going to any doctor and suprisingly my OBGYN is the one I feel most comfortable with. It really is important that you have a good rapport and feel comfortable with your doctor.

but don't worry, nothing is going to hurt and it'll be over before you know it. I think the worst part is the left over lubricant after the exam Chat Icon

Don't stress yourself out - it really wont be that bad! Chat Icon

Re: I have a OB/GYN appointment tommorow.

don't worry my ob/gyn talks you through everything they are doing i think the good ones usually do (especially if its your first time there)... its painless and you will feel relieved after its over...
i didnt like one of mine so i changed.. a great "bedside manner" makes all the difference...

too bad i moved away and i need to find a new one thanks for reminding me to start looking!

Not TTC, but Dr. Edwards was the first GYN I ever saw. Let him know your nervous, this is really a first for you. He explain everything as he does it.

Re: I have a OB/GYN appointment tommorow.

I also have had bad ob/gyn experiences, until I found the right ob/gyn. Try to relax- easier said then done. They will tell you what they are going to do. Just try to not concentrate on what they are doing so much- I try to think of a better place and postion I rather be in, and try to concentrate on something else. I find the whole thing humilating, but know it has to be done. The worst is the lubricating jelly they use, yuck- it is cold and wet. Sorry if TMI. Tell the dr. how nervous you are. Try to relax your hips- it makes it not feel as invasive. Chat Icon The worst part I think besides the internal is the breast exam- because the dr. is right near you, and you can see what is going on. I think I rather not see what is going on and just get it overwith. You will feel better after the exam is over. I was late going to the ob/gyn myself- so I know what you mean. Feel free to FM mail me if you need to talk. Good luck tomorrow. here are some hugs and prayers for you.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Just breathe deep and relax! It is just a natural check up that every woman goes thru about once a year. And Survive! You will be fine, just try to relax and be comfy. Good Luck and hope you get lucky very soon!

The whole group is great. I work in health insurance and know the group very well and have procedures done with them and saw them personally and have never had an issue.
