I had my first OB appointment today!

I am 5 weeks 5 days along. I saw the sac and even the little heartbeart flickering on the sono! The Dr. said it's a great sign the heartbeat is flickering and he says I'm doing great!

This is all so surreal! I can't believe I am going to be a mom in 8 months!

My mom told me that she is going away on a little vacation tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday. I want to tell my parents tonight, I'm just still on the fence..should I wait till 12 weeks...should I just tell them? AGH! I want to tell them I really do... but the only reason I don't want my stepfather to know is ....well he is kinda against the having kids idea..he thinks they ruin your life and your life is over after a baby. He can be negative about it and I am kinda nervous to let him know. If I tell my mother, she won't be able to keep it from him.. I figure he's going to find out soon enough right? I know it's such a personal decision to tell now or to wait. DH said we can tell them tonight or wait he's find with whatever.

i dont know how your relationship with your mom is... but i told my mom after i got a positive pregnancy test... there was no way i could wait to tell her...

as far as your step father... idk what to say...honestly, i probably wouldnt even tell him until well into the pregnancy...

Congratulations!!!!!! We told our parents pretty much right away. We are close with both sets. However, it is a very personal decision for each person. You have to find what feels right for you.

i told my mom and sister the day i got a positive pregnancy test just bc i couldnt keep it from them and wanted their support if something went wrong.

we told ILs this past weekened just about 8 weeks.

will tell my dad/step-mom this weekend.

all the rest of our family and friends will find out at 12 weeks.

I told my mom as soon as I got a positive pregnancy test and she has come to every doctor appointment with me since. My mom and I are extremily close so I wanted to go through this with her by my side!

I actually told my mom and told her she HAD to keep it from my stepfather. I didn't want her to tell him not because he's not supportive, but really because he's just a blabber mouth and would tell the world. I think if you begged your mom she could keep it for you. Just try it. And if she does tell him, then at least you weren't the one telling him and you won't have to hear the BS he's going to spew when finding out

Apparently, my stepfather's negativity have gotten to my mother. :(

I spoke to her last night and said being that you are going away until Sunday, why don't you come over? She said to me. "I get the feeling you wanna tell me that you're pregnant, are you? I didn't wanna tell her like that so I said "No". She responds, "Oh, okay, thank god" I said why would you say Thank God.



Really?

Now I don't even wanna share the news with her either! That just ruined my night.

I am sorry!! Don't worry I am sure that when your mom finds out she will be thrilled for you -- she might just have a lot on her mind?
