I guess it's safe to admit...
I've been trying to keep mum on specific details but at this point, I think it's safe to say... We finally have a closing date on a house. It's one week from today on Friday afternoon! 
It's a ranch in St. James, exactly where we wanted to be. The house and plot is smaller than we were looking for but the compromise was made for the neighborhood. And it works out well anyway because we bought way under our budget and plan to put money into the house very soon.
The process was made harder by... lets just say "conflicting personalities" and I've been forced to play mediator for a few weeks now. So this is a welcome development!
But the light is there... at the end of that loooong tunnel... And in one week, we could be homeowners!
Thanks again to everyone who has helped, and given me advice and recommendations. I'm sure I'll have more to come!

Thanks SO much everyone!
After the first house 'deal' fell through, I went from optimist to extreme pessimist. I didn't want to share any information or feel any anticipation or excitement at all, to prevent myself from being dissapointed again.
But we're slowly easing into it. I just made my 2-page walkthrough checklist.  Rusty and I are talking cleaning, painting, trips to Home Depot and BB&B...
We're still a little incredulous that this is really happening! Closing day will be SO great too. We're going to our favorite little place in St. James for breakfast, then the walkthrough at 10am, then maybe do a little window shopping at the mall and then we have the closing at 2:30pm.
Could this be real?
