I guess I'm ready to introduce myself...
Hi everyone.
I'm "Maybeamommy." I was a big poster on LIW and I'm sort of in hiding. I'm happy to come out via FM, but there are just a few lurking family members and friends that I'm not ready to tell yet.
We started trying in September 2007 and now that it's September 2008, I guess you could say I'm, by definition, facing infertility. We are both young. I am in my mid-twenties and DH is in his late-twenties.
We had an SA done in June. Results as follows:
Count: 148 million Motility: 95% 2 Hour Motility: 90% Abnormal Morphology: 4% Volume: 1 ml
From what I can tell, I am ovulating regularly (by CBEFM, OPKs, and confirmed by temping).
I read the IF boards all the time and pray for everyone.
We just finished our 12th month TTC and I am feeling very down about this whole process. I guess I was very naive, but I really thought we'd get pregnant the first month. I had no doubt we'd get pregnant after 3 months. I thought 6 months would be our absolute MAX. Now after 12 months, I have no idea how long this journey will be or where it will take us - but I am ready and willing to do whatever it takes to have a healthy baby.
Next steps: CD 3 blood work on Saturday HSG next Friday (9/12)
I am seeing an ob/gyn, not an RE. My ob/gyn does all preliminary testing and if it turns out that we need IUI or IVF, then we will be referred to an RE. I am confident in my doctor. He is very knowledgeable and regularly consults with various fertility specialists. I did a little "test" and asked him if he thought Clomid would be good for me, and he told me that his honest opinion would be NO. He said it would only increase our likelihood of having multiples since DH's SA was good and I am ovulating regularly on my own. I thought that was good since I often hear about doctor's freely prescribing Clomid.
Well, I guess that's my introduction. I hope you all have room for one more I'm sure I'll have a million questions along the way.

Re: I guess I'm ready to introduce myself...
your story is really similar to mine- both young, everything checked out. after 13 months TTc we went to a RE, did SA, CD 3 bloods, HSG everythign was fine. FWIW- RE put me on clomid. he said yes, it increases chance of multiples since i'm young, but even if you ovulate, the clomid can "supercharge" an egg. anyhow, clomid worked second month, i have a a beutiful DD, and about to go back on clomid for #2. hopefully will work again. did he test progesterone to see if you have a luteal phase defect?

Thanks for sharing your story with me!
He didn't test progesterone. I've been temping so I've been able to tell that I have a 14 day LP. Thank you though!
