i got my first appointment...question
I got my first appointment and i will be exactly 7 weeks at that time. I am assuming there will be an ultrasound (although i didnt ask)
Do you think there will be a heartbeat at 7 weeks? i mean, should there be by then?
I am thinking yes, but not sure.
also, do you think i should call again and ask if there will be an ultrasound? or is that pretty standard at 7 weeks

If you have accurately picked your dates and you are really 7 weeks, then yes there should be a heart beat.
also, do you

it depends upon both your doctor and your insurance.

99% chance there will be an u/s and you should be able to hear the heartbeat.

My first appt was at 7w5d and they did a vaginal ultrasound and we saw the baby and saw the heartbeat, but we didn't hear it.
We heard it for the first time at the Ultrascreen at 11w5d!! Good luck, it's sooooo exciting!

I had my first sono at exactly 6 weeks and we saw and heard the heartbeat!

I saw the heartbeat at 6w2d, so by 7 weeks you should see it

I had my first appointment around 6 weeks and I got a prescription for prenatal vitamins and the nurse did a lot of bloodwork.
I had my next appointment at 8 weeks and I had an internal sonogram. We didn't hear the heartbeat but we could see it on the screen. The baby was just a tiny little bean but it was so exciting!
