I feel horrible

My MS is horrible! I ended up in the ER on Friday because I couldn't keep anything down and got 2 bags of fluid, ate a light dinner when I left and threw it right up. I threw up today 3 times at my inlaws. I'm taking Zofran....what else can I do?
Anything I should be asking my doctor? They recommended the BRAT diet for a few days...anything else? I'm miserable and having a hard time even keeping fluids down.

Re: I feel horrible

I don't know what the brat diet is so I can't respond to that. I had bad MS too. For about a month I was getting sick 2x's a day, keeping very little down and barely making it off the sofa. I had a problem keeping water Down (and still am at 17w) so I mixed it with cranberry juice, grape drink, fruit punch etc. I ate bread and butter, pasta with butter or olive oil and that's it.
Eat slow, take small bites and sip your drink. If you have to go the ice chip root, ginger ale, go ger candy root to make you feel better.

And yes, If you've been in the hospital already I'd call the doc. It can't hurt.

I feel horrible

I had bad MS from 5.5 weeks until about 16 weeks. Nothing helped me except a zofran pump and reglan. After I took the pump off (apparently too early) I noticed that tums and gas x helped me as well and relieved some of the nausea. I tried the BRAT diet and it didn't help.

When I was on the zofan pump I had to speak to a nutritionist because I couldn't keep anything down, including water and was in the hospital 3 times. She made some suggestions that I found to be helpful. Two of them were if water makes it worse (for me it did) try to do half water and half of another drink (example: gatorade, lemonade, iced tea, etc). Also she said to buy juice boxes and put them in the freezer. This helped A LOT!!!! I was able to get the fluids I needed and something about the ice made it so much better. I LIVED on those plastic ice pops for weeks!!!!

If it really is that bad, you need to talk to your doctor about other methods that you can try before you have to be on the pump. I hope you feel better soon and I hope some of this helps...

Re: I feel horrible

I had to take all dairy out of my diet, took zofran 2x daily, reglan pump was put in at 12 weeks, and all that I can drink was lemonade. I know it stinks. I had the pump i till 24 weeks.

I feel horrible

I had the pump in my stomach and I was hooked up to an IV for a week at home. Once I was fully hydrated and all the meds were working I was able to tolerate it. I was still taking zofran and still getting sick but it got better as time went on. I know it is rough but it will just take time. I was still getting sick during labor! But even though it was so bad I am back for round 2. You can do it...good luck
