I ended up IN my old house today
I was driving home from meeting with my new accountant and they happen to be in the same area as my parents house
I was taking a pic to show my friend - when I got busted by the new owner
She was so nice- and she took me on a tour of all the work they have done- the place was half gutted
it was so weird being in my old house...her daughter sleeps in my old room
and her new baby will be sleeping in my brother's old room...and he was the second born as well
she told me to come back anytime..and I would like to see it when it is all done

wow--that's actually pretty cool. i sometimes drive by my childhood home and wonder what it looks like on the inside now. its kind of cool you got to see yours.

That was so sweet!
I drove by my parents first home last weekend with my DD, we moved when I was 6 , and I got totally busted by the owner mowing his lawn. I didn't stop but he kind of look like  as to why I was pointing out the window!
I would love to someday be able to see inside. My dad did alot of stuff to that house.

That's so cool. I live in my childhood home, but mother always wanted to go back to hers and ring the bell. She never did, though.
It's great that you got to do it.

That happend to me a few months ago..mom was visiting and wanted to drive by the house...our old neighbor was outside so we stopped to say hi and as we were talking the people who bought our house were walking home from Voting at the fire house..so we started talking and they were like Come in come in..so we did..it was so weird..their girls are in my old room I grew up in until I moved upstairs ...everything looked so tiny to me compared to what I remembered it as ..It was kinda nice to see it but kinda made me sad

That's nice that she was so nice...My husbands old house is right across the street from mine..I still can't even look at it-it still makes me sad

That's pretty cool.
I have so many childhood homes but every once in a while when I'm in the city I will go back to the old apartment buildings just to see the old neighborhoods. Love the feeling of being back there.

That is awesome. When my parents sold our old house they became friends with the people who bought it! It was really cool going over there and seeing what they did to the place! They actually just moved from there so I won't be able to see it anymore!
