I don't know what to do...
Or what to say for that matter...
On Saturday, my family and DH are throwing me a surprise b'day party (yeah... I know... not so much a surprise... but DH isn't so good with stress and lying to me about his whereabouts)... and I am worried about the barrage of questions from those around me (friends and family alike) as to why I'm not "drinking"... the same goes for next weekend... I am going away to visit friends in VA and our usual routine is to sit around and have a bottle of wine b-tching about our DHs and reminiscing... Again, I don't know what to do or say...
As in my previous post, usually when people ask me when I'm going to start to have kids... I have my answer, but now... I don't know what to say... or do What do you say????

You can drink. Don't be silly!
Even if you are in the 2ww, it is okay to have a glass of wine or a drink.
I wouldn't go get smashed, but a little social drinking should be fine!
From what everyone says, you don't share a bloodstream with the baby until later on.
Have fun!

I wouldn't worry about it- until you get that BFP I think you just have to live life as you always have.....whatever is going to happen will happen regardless of you having a few drinks here and there!

OK... wow... I'm thinking that I have to keep alcohol out of my system completely...
I felt like if I did something like have a few drinks and I didn't get a BFP, it'd be my fault for being stupid ... I just don't know where the line is drawn... some websites say to cut out alcohol... others don't mention it...

I would just follow your normal life until you get your BFP. A few social drinks are absolutly fine! I wouldn't worry about it at all.

a trusted friend told me that we DO NOT share a blood line with our unborn baby until 5 weeks...so you can do what you have to do until then.
you cannot live your life every day as if you might be pregnant. It may take 1 month, or 1 year and if you stopped 'living' for a year - you'd regret it!

Why can't you have a few drinks? I'm not a drinker really, but if were were out to dinner and I wanted a glass of wine, even in my 2WW, I had it! (That was before I did IVF, then I was instructed, no alcohol).
Bottom line is this: Don't stop living your life the way you normally would. You never know how long it's going to take you to get pregnant.

Same here. Having a few drinks won't affect whether you get pregnant. I drank during the 2WW (not excessively, but I had a few) and I ate sushi the night before I got a BFP. I didn't change my eating/drinking habits while TTC.

Re: I don't know what to do...
I agree. I'm not a drinker but if I were I would have a drink or two at a social occasion. If you were pregnant the baby doesn't share your bloodstream right away, so you're not doing any harm!!!! Stressing would be worse for you than a couple of drinks!
