I dont have MS yet but something similiar, whats good for it?

For the last few days Ive been feeling like I want to vomit, but dont. Its like a gagging sensation....I have a feeling MS is going to strike soon though. What is good to take to help this gagging/MS feeling?

I liked Preggie Pops. My ms wasn't awful (i never threw up) but I had some rough days with it. I kept the Preggie Pop drops (the sucking candy, not the lollipop) on hand and would pop a few of them and they worked great for me!

I used Preggie Pops, but sometimes it just got worse after I was done with the pop. I too never got sick, just kept feeling yucky!

My LNP suggested Pepcid AC every morning and it worked, never had the feeling again. I stayed on it until 12 1/2 weeks and then stopped to see of the yucky feeling went away and it did. Hope you feel better soon.

I never got sick from m/s, but I always felt like I was going to in my first trimester.

I got a prescription for Zofran from my doctor that I took sparingly to try to curb the nausea. I usually tried to take it at night so that I didn't wake up feeling nauseous and that seemed to work.

Just because you feel so nauseous, doens't mean you'll necessarily get physically sick - hopefully you don't!! Chat Icon

Feel better!

That is M/S. You just haven't actually thrown up yet. One always eat something. And you can try preggie pops or ginger candies. I also drank powerade cause it has Vit B which is supposed to help with the nauseous feeling. You can also take a b6 pill to help.

You can also get them at maternity clothing stores. Destination Maternity always has them up front by the checkout line.

I also kept saltines w/me at all times and would eat one or two as soon as I woke up every morning. I also sipped on ginger ale.

ginger ale and cracker. I only threw up a handful of times, but was in a constant state of gagging for quite a few weeks.

I had that also. I only threw up once, but for a few weeks I gagged and dry-heaved every morning. Saltines and tic tacs, and seltzer helped settle my stomach

I also agree with PP who said to always keep something in your stomach. My ms always flared up when my stomach was empty, which was a terrible thing because then it was so hard to eat bc I felt nauseous! I used to try to keep little snacks stashed everywhere- at work, in the car, in my nightstand- so I could make sure my stomach never really got empty.

Thanks ladies! I always thought MS was only if you threw up...guess mine is starting early. I have to say, though annoying and uncomfortable Im glad to have it! Im so glad to have a symptom this time around. I will look into all of the advice you ladies gave and will try some of these things!

before you try meds, find out your trigger. Mine was hunger or gas (seriously!) if i feel nausea coming on, I make sure i eat something (carbs) and also try to belch Chat Icon

I love eating watermelon bc its cool and refreshing and read that it also helps with ms.
good luck!

ETA: I also chewed on pepermints or gum and that helped as well.

Yea, I really didnt want to go the medication route just yet. I want to try something more natural first. I think Im going to go with peppermints, watermelon or ginger Chat Icon

Try eating many small meal/snacks. The only time I had nausea was when I went too long without eating. Animal crackers were my best friend!

they are wristbands you wear with a little ball that hits an acupressure point that helps with motion sickness/nausea/morning sickness.

No drugs/side effects and they help!

I heard about these just after I hit my 12week mark. I heard they work really well. I always had peppermint tea, saltines, gingerale or gatorade on hand. Gatorade helped alot for me this time around.
