I can't take people and their stupid comments!
No matter where we go, there are people CONSTANTLY making comments about the number of kids we have.
Some of the favorites:
Don't you know what causes that
You need a new hobby
Have you ever heard of birth control
Are you going for your own tv show
Are you trying to break the world record
You look too normal to have so many (what?!)
GOD I can't even take it anymore. I try to smile and respond nicely, but sometimes I can tell there is a nasty undertone to their comments. I understand that its rare to see a big family these days, but why do people feel the need to be so negative about it? My kids are very well behaved, taken care of, why can't people MYOB?

My aunt has 6, and I'm sure she gets these comments too. People need to mind their own business.
You can just start going back at them too.
Don't you know what causes that?- No, I keep forgetting.
You need a new hobby. I have lots of hobbies, this one is my favorite.
Have you ever heard of birth control? Yes, and I don't dare touch the stuff!
Are you going for your own tv show? No, they won't hire us, my kids are too well behaved.
Are you trying to break the world record? Yes, because 5 is SOOOO close to 64. 
You look too normal to have so many (what?!) That's really funny, because I was thinking just the opposite of you.

You can't win with people
If you have one child- they have something to say about not giving them a sibling....
If you have one gender, they want to know if you are going to try for the opposite gender....
If you have 2 of the same gender, they immediately think you are dissapointed and will be trying for a 3rd ...
And forget about it if you haven't had ANY children yet (or don't intend on having any) , then you get asked "what you are waiting for"

my mouth is  gaped open at the fact that ANYONE would say that to you.
I OFTEN look at your pics & just dream of a family that size (both Dave & I come from VERY small families).

I have found that people will have something to say about every situation. Before DD#2 was born people would say things to me all the time because DD#1 was getting older.(They are 7 1/2 years apart)(We had a hard time getting p/g and had 4 m/c's)
-what are you waiting for
-are you REALLY gonna make her an only child
-Is she a difficult child, is that why?
-Your not getting any younger
-Don't you want another one.
I would always say, I hope we are lucky enough to have another one some day, but we have not been that blessed just yet.
Or, It's not for lack of desire or trying.
Or sometimes if they caught me on a bad day, I would tell strangers outright, I have lost FOUR babies, so NO, it is not our plan!

people are so dumb! Why can't they learn to keep their comments to themselves.
My aunt has 4 children, they are 8, 7, 5 & 3. People are always commenting on it and she gets soo mad! I don't blame her. If you can take care of them and it makes you happy- why is it anyone's business!
I say Good for you and you are lucky that you can!

I get comments too, but we only have one child. And that's it, we are not trying for more. Things like,
"You have to give him a brother or sister. He'll be so lonely"
"When are you giving him a brother or sister"
"How selfish to stop with one child!"
and on and on. I think anyone who has less or more than 3 children probably becomes game for silly comments--lots of people really don't seem comfortable with anything that deviates from the 2-3 child family.
We have good reasons to stop where we are, and while ideally I would have liked two, we feel fortunate to have one. Sometimes I say that, and sometimes I don't feel the need to explain what we are doing.
If you feel your family is the right size for you, then that's great. Only your family can decide what's best, no one else.

Provided people can afford them and have time to give them the attention needed folks should feel free to have an many as they like.
Only thing I would have an issue with is if the taxpayers were paying for their care or if they weren't getting enough attention (octomom comes to mind here)

My BF is pregnant with # 5. They wanted a big family, but when baby #4 was born with Down Syndrome, they decided to stop. Well, 10 months later, OOPS!! You would not believe the comments she gets!!! One lady in a store pointed to the baby w/ Downs, then to my friend's belly, and said, "I think that was God's sign to stop, dear." My friend burst into tears.
People can be such azzholes sometimes.

wait, so people make comments bc you have more than 2 (or 3 ) kids  
what's there to comment about , why can't someone have more than 2 or 3 kids
LOL where I come from most people look at you funny if you only have 1 or 2 kids 
some people are just so stupid , I 'll give you one ex:
today I took DD to a playground , at some point she was attempting to go up the steps leading to the slide while holding her friend's scooter , I ran to her and got her down from there .
I came back to other moms and one of them said to me, "you should just let her do whatever, she'll learn her lesson once she falls off and hurts herself, I used to let my sons go down the steps on the bicycles in our old house"
I didn't say anything, I turned around and walked away:rolleyes
Someone will always make a silly comment, there is nothing you can do about it. I just try to let it go (or say something really nasty to them and then let it go  )

DH and I were in a similar situation a few weeks ago. We went out to dinner with the kids (3months, 1.5, 5, 7 and 9 years old) to Carrabbas restaurant. It was as if we were a freak show! The entire dinner, the tables around us kept staring and commenting on the kids. They weren't nasty though (maybe they felt my biitch vibe) just amazed how well behaved all of the kids were. People always feel the need to make comments when we are walking by though. Once, a woman did make a few snide comments, one that was loud enough for me to hear; something to the effect of, "Close your legs." To which I told DH to take the kids outside the store and I turned around, got in the woman's face and had some choice words for her. She fuccked with the wrong mommy that day. Hang in there sweetie!! Sometime you gotta just tell people to stop being jealous and to mind their friggin business!!

I am with you girl...I am one of 6 kids and MAN do the comments flow about that and THEN when people hear that we have just one 5 year old, I always get "well, you HAVE to give her a sibling!"
Yeah, you wanna birth a baby for me...go for it!
