I am so upset
So, I'm on the higher dose of clomid this cycle (100mg) and we were hoping this would do the trick. Went in on Saturday and had lots of small follicles. Just got back from my appointment this AM and it seems I still have lots of small follies, but nothing significant (and I am CD17). Plus, my uterine lining isn't thickening up the way it should be. Guess this is another cycle wasted on clomid (my second) and another opportunity wasted for an IUI. I am so upset. I left there crying.... I made an appointment with my doctor for Monday to discuss my other options.
I could go up to 150mg of clomid (I am so fed up with clomid at this point) or onto injectibles (which have their risks, too). I don't know what to do anymore

I'm so sorry for your disappointment. I know how it feels. I would give injectibles a try maybe. Clomid is just not good for the uterine lining.

ITA! I would talk to your doctor about injectibles. They are not as scary as they sound!

Re: I am so upset
I am sooooo sorry - I can totally empathize, and I fear I'll be in the same position next month when my RE wants to try one more, higher dose of Clomid before bagging it entirely. At least for me, she said if the Clomid doesn't work at the 100mg dose, then she's just going to stop prescribing it and we'll move straight into injectables instead. Maybe that's also an option for you?
Keep your head up - we're here for you

Re: I am so upset
I'm sorry, I know how upsetting it is! I am a little different case than you - The first time I took clomid 50mg, after two rounds and a really long time I finally had one egg. Then I went to 100mg. I had one egg pretty quickly, but BFN. So we did 100mg again, but it didn't work the second time. So I went to 150mg. Finally, a good response - I had 5 follies. I also did IUI that cycle and I concieved (but later m/c). So now we are trying 150mg again since it worked last time. Fortunately I haven't had any lining problems. If I don't concieve this cycle or clomid doesn't work, I want to move to injectibles.

I am sorry you are going through this. I would def. talk to your doc about your response to Clomid. If you tell him you are open to the idea of injectibles, he will probably let you go for it. I had fewer side effects on injectibles but did develop a mild case of OHSS this month. HTH and best of luck going forward!

Dont get down. Let me ask you... Can they do 50mg of clomid 5 days w/150iui of injectibles?? (follistim) I have done this every iui and have always responded so well. Just so you dont have to do straight injections. My wall has always been perfect and I get at least 2 or more eggs. Of course no pregnancy yet but this protocol has been good. Is this an option?? G/L also you might just take off and get some good follies still. BD anyway!!

Re: I am so upset
Thank you so much for your replies. It helps to know that I am able to post here and get the support I need.
DH went to the doctor with me for the first time today - was there for the sonogram and everything. He just told me that he loves me MORE because of everything I'm going through and didn't realize the extent of it until he saw me laying on the table having my sonogram It meant so much to hear that he sort of "gets it" a bit better now. I feel very lucky to have him help me get through this.

Before I add anything- I have to say... this is AWESOME that your DH is kind of starting to get all that you're going thru!!! I did clomid for 3 months. I did 1 on 50, 1 on 100 and 1 on 150 and didn't respond at all on any dose. I would ask your dr if he thinks there's a shot you'll respond or if he suggests moving onto injectables. I had a lousy first round on injectables and hyperstimulated. This round I feel GREAT!!! NO side effects. I had worse side effects on clomid- the hot flashes were awful at times... Please let us know if we can answer any questions that you might have Good luck to you- I know how hard this is.

Thank you so much. You are ALWAYS so helpful. I am going to ask the doctor about injectibles. I don't want to waste another cycle on clomid if it's not doing the trick for me - and giving me nasty side effects.

Re: I am so upset
I did a round of Clomid at 100 and then another at 150 and never made any follies. I also had horrible, horrible side effects - when I moved to injections I had (and still have) no side effects to speak of and have had a great response. I absolutely hated Clomid and it never even worked. If you have questions about moving on to injections let us know!
