I have used progesterone. No real side effects for me. Ther is really no specific # your hcg should be. Its more about if your numbers double. How many DPO are you?

23 DPO my last period was jan 4 i should be about 5-6 weeks.

hcg levels can vary so much... the real question is, is it doubling. your doctor will be able to tell you that on thursday.

I am on suppositories. As soon as I got the BFP I started using them and I will be 8 weeks tomorrow. They can assist with the pregnancy up to week 11 effectively.
Dont giv eup hope -HCG levels vary so much.

i was on progesterone for the first 4 months of each of my pregnancies.. it made me  but it all turned out well!

i was on the highest dose. i bled thru the first 3 months of 2 of my 3 pregnancies..my prog. levels just never climbed... my dr. told me i would be on them till the placenta "kicked in" and that was around 4 months!

actually we do have news...good news and so- so news
we went to the doctor and he wanted to do a sonogram to rule out ectopic well he did ...he found the baby and a heartbeat and it is measuring right on target
the bad news..
I have a hematoma...bledding in the uterus. He basically told us that I have a 50% chance of miscarrying if this does not resolve itself within the next 6 weeks
so we are sitting and worrying for the next six weeks
he took my bloodwork and I should get the results today...but the strange thing is this two issues are not related
I think seeing the heartbeat just made me more upset because I know there is a baby in there
I don't know how I will not worry about this 24/7 for the next 6 weeks
good luck to your sil let me know how it goes with her

Hmmm I know plenty of p[eople that have had this and not miscarried. I think SmileyD from this board had one and is now 29 weeks. Try to relax. At least you don't have unexplained bleeding which is much more ominous to pregnancy outcome.

I don't know how you can stop from worrying for six weeks. I'm sure everyone is telling you not to. If you figure that one out let me know!
Good to hear that you saw a heartbeat. I think that increases your chances of a healthy pg.
Did you doc say it was new blood or old blood? My SIL's doc isn't sure from the sono so she has to go back in for a follow up, but he's hoping it was old blood. Maybe from a previous cycle.
She got her 1st level back which looked normal and is waiting to hear how it compares to the second level.
I will keep thinking of you. I don't want to keep prying and asking what's new. I'll add you to my prayers when I pray for my SIL. Let's hope they're not even necessary! Stay strong.
