I am so ANGRY at my alarm company!
I had it installed in August - had a problem where we were not being monitored & had it corrected. I did a test today to find that they have not received a signal from my house since SEPTEMBER 
What the hell is the point of paying them every month.
Please recommend reputable alarm companies...thanks!

OMG Yes....
They did the same thing to me! (and a sh!tload of others from what I read online).
I now use NextAlarm.
Alot of ladies here use either Brinks or Slomin's.

I use GenSecurity based on a few posts on here. They've been great! I've had them for a year now. Also, no problems w/Optimum either.
DEFINITELY get a refund!!!!

We use Lowitt. My friend uses APS with Optimum and hasn't said anything, so I assume she's had no problems.

We have Slomins & they've been great EXCEPT if you have Optimum Voice....they do maintenance at least once monthly interrupting the phone service & that triggers the alarm. Hence why I had 2 cops walking through my house last night at 2 am!

We have Sovereign Signal & LOVE them. Never had a problem & very fast response time when the alarm goes off (we have set it off MANY times)

yikes! I haven't had this happen..maybe I'm not being monitored?
Thats the key. You really don't know if you aren't being monitored.
Happened to me with Slomins. When I had my alarm system upgraded to add more sensors, they said I haven't been monitored properly since October. A total joke IMO.
The only real way to tell if you are being monitored is to manually set off the alarm and see if they call. They are SUPPOSED to try to call you first before they notify the cops. Trigger your alarm during the day by opening a door and see if they call. If they don't call, you have grounds to demand a refund.

We use All Island Security and love them so far.
I also hear that Slomins does a pretty good job too.

We do this every 3 or 4 months - just to keep them honest. We use NextAlarm, with a wireless system that we installed ourselves.
ETA: When you ask why you weren't being monitored, what do they say?

We're dorks & manage to do this at least once a month - but not on purpose...
