Hugh Hefner, Holly, Kendra and Bridget
PLAYBOY legend Hugh Hefner has been caught telling a big fat fib to one of his girlfriends - by praising the author of an Elle magazine article instead of slamming her as he promised he would.
Kendra Wilkinson was furious when she read the profile of herself, Hefner and his other girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison, in the June issue of Elle.
Writer Daphne Merkin focused the article on the foursome's E! show, "The Girls Next Door." But while the story and pictures were flattering overall, Wilkinson was hurt that she was described as "giving off a palpable air of anxiety." Merkin also quoted Wilkinson as saying her fake breasts were "my best investment" and said the blonde referred constantly to her "slight acne."
"I'm very insecure right now about my face," Wilkinson told Merkin. "I get scared with Hef looking at me at the mansion and maybe thinking I'm ugly."
Merkin also mentions Wilkinson's "fleeting attention span," her "dazed personality and limited vocabulary" and quotes Hefner describing Wilkinson's "distinctly unintellectual charm" by mockingly saying, "Books? What books?"
Two weeks ago, Wilkinson went on "Larry King Live" with Hefner and the other girlfriends to discuss the E! show and said, "a magazine article that just came out . . . it hurt my feelings and it really, like, crushed my heart. And Hef being such a great guy, he said, 'You know what, Kendra? I was going to write them a letter and say, like, how this is wrong.' [The article] wasn't really nice . . . People like to pick on me."
Hefner then chimed in and said, "I think the writer really didn't understand and didn't really identify with [Wilkinson and Marquardt], you know?"
But that's not what Hefner said in the letter he wrote to Merkin, Page Six has learned.
The letter said: "I just finished reading your article . . . and think it's the best, most perceptive piece on the show to date . . . I hope you get a chance to do a longer story for the New York Times or The New Yorker."
A rep for Hefner didn't return e-mails.

I think she is older than them - i want to say shes in her early 30s. I think shes the most natural looking! I love them all though, thats my fav show.

bridgette is more natural, little heavier but much nicer than the others, kendra has the best body IMO holly is a ditz, but if I remember correctly, apparantly they all get paid to be his girl so they're really not "true" girlfriends

Really? Bridget is my favorite...she has her Master's degree and just seems like the most semi -"normal" girl.

Bridget def seems like the nicest and the one with the most drive, but standing next to the other 2 she looks like she's in her late 30's.. maybe it's the tanning.. I don't know what it is actually...
Kendra and Holly def look fake, but they are prettier IMO. Kendra cracks me up cause she's so stupid, and I think Holly is a Martha Stewart wannabe.. although I truely believe she's MADLY inlove with that old dude..

I like Bridget the best. she has a college degree, more natural looking, not as thin, doesnt seem fake and LOVE that she takes care of her pets the way she does.
She is in her mid 30's. Holly is a space cadet and Kendra is trying too hard.

For the record, they all have fake boobs and dyed hair.. what's more real about Bridget? That she was getting her masters? I mean kudos to her for doing so.. but you think she's paying for it herself? What makes her real? Actually, what makes the other 2 fake? Their implants? I know plenty of people who've had boob jobs and I don't consider them "fake"....
Not trying to cause an uproar.. just curious what is meant by "fake". I find it "fake" the way Kendra and Bridget kiss Hugh, actually I find it repulsive..lol but I think Holly is in it for more than the money.... again, JMO

I hate the faces that Bridget makes during all of the photo shoots - where she has her mouth open and poofs up her lips. It drives me mad.
I actually like them all - they are all different. Kendra is still so young and she is the crazy partier of the three. Bridget just seems sweet like she couldn't hurt a fly, and I like Holly.

When I say "real" I mean "normal"- as in a typical, down to earth woman. Even though she lives in the lap of luxury, she continued her education to ensure that she will be able to make her own way in life once her fairytale at the mansion is over. If I recall- she's paying for school through scholarships, but even if Hef IS footing the bill- at least she's getting something of an investment from her time spent. What will the other two have to show?
Also, she has the same body issues/insecurities that most women have. She's acknowledged on the show that she knows she's "older" and not as toned as the other 2, but that she loves to have sweets and just tries to be happy with the way she's built.
She seems to be so genuine in her happiness for others that I just really like her. Every time there is an event/birthday/shower all you see is Kendra's sorry @ss running to the mansion receptionist to get a card because again she's forgotten.
THAT'S what I meant when I said Bridget is more real......
Oh, and her boobs ARE her own apparently.
OMG- I have WAAAAAAAY too much time on my hands.
