Re: HS Math teachers?

Last year, DS, in 8th grade, needed a TI-83 Plus or better. They asked the same thing this year in 9th. Instead of borrowing the school's calculators for the year, I bought him a TI-84 CE. I figured he should be able to use that for all 4 years of HS, and probably most of college, depending on his courses.

I've been out of the game for several years but we always used the TI-83. I can't imagine there's anything they need that that one can't do. In college we needed an 89 and I hated that one.

If you can get the 84 - get the 84. Check Craigslist too

I used a Ti-82 in high school 20 years ago. Can't believe they are only up to a TI-84. I thought it would be a TI-98 or something by nowChat Icon

ti-83 or ti-84. Do not get a scientific calculator or the ti-89. the 89 is too expensive, and is only really used for calculus students.

They don't go in order like you would expect. DS's TI-84 Plus CE came out in 2015. The TI-92 came out in 1995.

Re: HS Math teachers?

TI has a nice chart that shows which school subjects each of their calculators are good for:
