HPT or Beta?
Went in for my prog check this morning. The nurse said if she doesn't call I don't need endometrin. If I don't need it she said I can use HPT instead of coming in for a Beta. I never had that option before. Would you do HPT or rather a Beta? Is it better to get the call I am BFN or see on a test? I am totally over thinking I'm sure. I guess anything is better than a 645 am appt right?

I guess it really depends on your ins coverage. Might be better to have an instant (5 min) answer from a HPT rather than waiting for the results of the beta.

I would push for a beta- your hcg # may be too low for a hpt to detect, but the blood test would be able to.

I am always on endoemetrin every cycke
have you been on it before? My re wants me on it every cycle until the beta is tested (since i tested once for low levels)
I do not get my progesterone tested each cycle

I was on it once. The past three cycles it was fine. The one time I was on it I think it was because I ate before the test. I read that your levels drop after you eat. My ins covers it but it is no fun waiting for that phone call. If I get a pos HPT I will have to go in for a Beta to check my levels. I guess the only difference will be if I have a BFN and then I will just have to go back on cd3

That's what happened to me last month.. I did not need prog and they wanted me to test cd14 with a HPT- not a beta. This go around, my RE wants a beta done bc she was a bit surprised that it stayed in my system until cd14. She put me on progesterone this go around too. Overall, it's ultimately up to you if you want the assurance of it. I think RS of nY are not pushing betas with IUI's anymore..

I know!!! Haven't heard so I think I am good to go which means no extra hormones to get a false pos. I may buy a test and start on mon which will be 11dpiui. I'll let you know if/when I do!!

HPT or Beta?
I'm on Endometrin in the 2ww regardless, I don't go in for Progesterone test. I wasn't given the option to use a HPT but I think its fine. I used a HPT before the beta just so I knew what the result would probably be. Obviously if you got a positive you would be getting a BETA. I started testing at 12 DPIUI. Good luck!

I think I am gonna buy a pack and start testing Monday or Tuesday. I never did that before so I figure I will switch it up this month. If I get really unnerved I can always schedule a beta. If my beta is really low there is nothing they can do except tell me when I can expect AF to arrive. The only time I got a BFP was my chemical so I want to see the possible feeling of finding out on my own with DH next to me. Thanks everyone for your input
