Anyone NOT take a HPT before their BETA?
At this point, I am still on the fence about taking a HPT. Right now, I am 9dp3dt and I want to know, but if it is a BFN I do not want to have to deal with the news twice.
Am I the only crazy person who did not test before their BETA?

Anyone NOT take a HPT before their BETA?
I tested and I dont know if it helped or not...I was crying last night and then again as they were taking my Beta...for me I think I got out some of my crying with my DH...the negative beta will just confirm the hpt

I didn't test before my beta. I waited it out which was really hard but I just couldn't bear to look at the stick. Either way a BFP is exciting and a BFN is devastating. We got the call it was positive and we were so happy but it didn't make me feel grateful that I waited. We just found out this pregnancy is not viable so we will be back at this again and this time I might just test ahead of time not sure. GOod luck

I always tested before my betas...though I usually got AF before and didn't need to waste money on a HPT. To me, it was easier to know what to expect than to be sitting at work when I got the news.

DH and I ALWAYS tested together, neither of us wanted to know before the other ever. we werent going to test before the beta but the night before when we realized there was NO WAY we could find out together since our schedules were very different, we decided to test. it was literally 10pm and the beta was set for like 7am the next morning.

IDK, I do have the patience to wait but I just never did...I always test from HCG---beta.

I did not! I was too scared. I didn't touch a test and I made my husband hold my hand when the clinic called.

I tested right before my betas for my IUIs. Both negative. Our next cycle will be an IVF... not sure what we are going to do.

i tested before my beta but only because i hadn't had a beta scheduled. my RE told me when i could test and if I got a BFP, to call for a beta.

When I did IVF (I only did it once) I did not test. I wish I had because getting that call at work was the worst. I had to keep a straight face and wait until I left to burst into tears. I would test if I had the opportunity to do it again.

I never tested, EVER!!! I had 5 IVFs, and numerous IUIs and just never thought to test. I didn't even know what POAS was or that I could even test before my beta until I joined this board. I was beyond STUNNED when my doctor called to tell to tell me I was pregnant after my last IVF. I did eventually test 6 months into my pregnancy for my husband to see the stick since he felt that he did not get that moment. I honestly don't think I would do anything different.

Thanks Ladies!
I am still unsure of what I am going to do, but as of now I think I am just going to wait for the BETA. I do not have work tomorrow so if they call in the middle of the day at least I do not need to worry about crying if it is a BFN.

I have tested in the past, and been devastated. I have also tested in the past only to find out my beta's were positive but the HPT negative.
I vow to not test ever again. This way I just stay positive the whole time!
