How would you feel about this?
One of the guys I work with is "quirky." He has all these little peculiarities, but not because he's OCD or just a weird guy, he does it on purpose, which makes it doubly annoying. One of his quirks is that he will only go to lunch with up to 2 other people. Today, I was in an office with two other guys. He came in, not realizing I was there, to ask them to grab some lunch. And instead of bending his "rule" and asking me to come along, he told me that he would invite me, but he can only go to lunch with 2 people. 
Luckily, I don't really care one way or the other for this guy, so I wasn't hurt, but, come on, that's a pretty jerky move, right?

that's rude...why didn't the other people say something? that is rude of them as well. just because someone is "quirky" doesn't make it okay

You shoulda said "No worries - wouldn't want to interrupt your threesome anyway."
Eh... actually you are probably better off not having said anything. He would have thought you were really upset and then he would have become more annoying in a quest to make sure you don't feel left out next time.

Actually, I think he would have felt some sort of triumph in knowing he got to me.
What ended up happening is he asked those guys to lunch, they said okay, he chatted a bit and then jokingly gave them both the finger and spared me, either 'cause he felt bad or 'cause I'm a lady. Either way I gave him the finger and thanked him for the invite.
