How will you use the pack 'n play?

Just wondering what everyone's plans are for using the pack 'n play. Are you using a crib, bassinet or pack 'n play at night during the first few months?

Will you use the pack 'n play just for naps or for travel?

We are going to use a bassinet in our bedroom on the 2nd floor of my house and the pack and play for naps on the 1st floor during day

My friend and my sister both have given me one. I will change them in the top part when I am downstairs and they will nap in it hopefully. I have a bassinet for sleeping also given to me by my friend that will be in my room for the first month or two. Love you Steph

We are using it as a bassinet for the first couple of weeks in our bed room. Than we will use it in the living room for naps.

I plan on putting him in the crib at night and using the pack and play for naps and changes during the day. It will eventually be the "down stairs" crib when we move.

We're going to use it downstairs as a nap area when I'm downstairs doing things or we're both watching tv or what not...we're also getting a second one so we can bring to the parents when they are babysitting....

we may use it as a bassinet in our bedroom, then a travel playard/crib/changer when we're out and about. We won't have it set up all the time though being we're in a relatively small condo

We are going to use it as a bassinet in our bedroom until we move. We have a 1br right now. Baby is due in Dec & our lease is up in March. I hope to find an affordable 2br so we can move in April 1st. Once we move we will buy a crib & furniture. I can wait to put together a nursery!

Once we move the PNP will stay in the living room & be used mostly for naps.

we were just given a hand-me-down graco (with changing table). currently, there are 2 potential uses.

1) we need a very strong pack-n-play for mom's house, since she agreed to take care of scone when I return to work. I haven't opened the inherited one yet... if it's sturdy enough and has a bassinet, we likely will use it for this.

2) we have no travel sleeping thing yet. we were thinking about getting a peapod, but if the graco looks like it won't hack it for heavy duty use yet it is easy to set-up, we may instead use it for travel.

we plan on having the baby sleep in the bassinet part for the first month or so in our room. after that we will probably move it down to the living room for naps, etc. if it gets in the way, we'll bring it to my mom or MIL's house.

my intention was to use it for changing and naps

what really happened is that DS hates sleeping in it. so naps actually happen in his swing, our arms or his crib. the mattress is so much thinner than the crib mattress. it's once in a blue moon that he'll sleep in it.

it should be interesting when we bring it with us on vacation next week. luckily my BF loaned us a PNP mattress to use on top of the regular one. we're hoping that will help.

i use it to change him, and that's about it. i didn't want him sleeping in it and then changing to a crib because i didn't want any possible switching problems and wanted him in his crib from day one.

BTDT mom uses of her pack and play.

Travel- never flew with it but take it along when driving for overnights. WAY too heavy to fly with if you ask me.

Put in DH office when we need her bedroom for guests- only have one guest room so that is a frequent use with all of our family out of town

Used it when she outgrew her bassinet. She only moved into her own room at 6 months since it was across the house from us. Still hate that she is so far away.

Sleep over with my brother's DD- either we bring it to their house or use it at ours when they are around.

As of right now we plan to use it as a bassinet in our bedroom in the very beginning. In addition we will take it with us when we travel to use as a crib, changer play yard etc. when visiting with family etc.
