How was your DS's reaction to / recovery from circumcision?
I am on the fence about it. Having done my own research, but at the end of the day my DH has a penis and I don't so I am letting him make that choice.

Hi everyone- thanks for the responses!
I've had a very rough twin pregnancy & recovery from c-section that I feel I haven't been able to research this properly or even think straight. Let alone, learning to care of two newborns!
In the hospital, it felt like every 5 mins, someone was asking about circumcisibg. I knew I didn't want it that soon & am so glad I held off b/c DS ended up in NICU & didn't need any extra strains on his system.
I appreciate all of the responses, including Grill's.
I think I will postpone the appt until I can research & consider enough to feel confident in my decision.
DH is fine w/either option.
In retrospect we probably would NOT have done it. Our sons did not have any complications, but when you sit and consider there is no medical reason for it, it seems barbaric. Our sons were NICU babies and we were very concentrated on that and making sure they didnt get vaccines we didnt want so...we sort of let this one slip by.

Re: How was your DS's reaction to / recovery from circumcision?
I'll chime in on page 5, now that the drama has peaked.
I left the decision up to my DH. My DH was circ. at 22... so he insisted my DS be circ. at birth. There was no convincing him otherwise. To his mind, why should our son suffer through that as an adult?
I probably wouldn't have had it done if the choice was only mine.
DS was fine. He was gone for all of 5 minutes, came back to me totally content. No issues at all.
Totally freaked me out though, and I was afraid to clean him until it healed.

I have said this before and i'll say it again while Gill's approach is not great, and trust me I can relate to that, her intentions are good. Can we please just walk away from the Gill bashing. SOme of these comments are just beyond rude and uncalled for. I get it...she is passionate and has a bad approach, but can we just all be respectful to others opinions as well.
Thank you for your courage! And also, the 'Grill bashing' can't possibly be related to what I've posted on this thread. I was respectful, non-judgmental, helpful and provided links to extremely reputable, peer-reviewed medical journal articles to help the OP in her crunch time. My intentions were good and I feel confident saying that my expression here, on this thread has also been good. But thank you PeasandCarrots...for rising up again :).
Actually I have to say I admire Grill for having strong beliefs. Unless the OP is a automaton, I'm sure she will do her own research.
