how to transfer to crib?

we're not quite ready to transfer to the crib, but im getting nervous about it already since dd is sleeping so well swaddled in the rock n play.

when you transferred to the crib did you keep dc swaddled?

im nervous to keep her swaddled in the crib for some reason.

any advice?

We had DS sleeping in the vibrator seat for about a week and a half when we brought him home, he hated the crib when I tried to transition him into it so I put the seat in the crib for a couple nights to get him used to the room and the crib and then he took to the crib very well

yes, I kept her swaddled for a looong time in the crib. then for a looong time one arm in/one out. we had sleep issues lol

There's no right or wrong way to transition to the crib. I just kept trying DS in the crib until he took to it, which was fairly young. We started him there overnight first, not for naps. He was swaddled (until about 11 weeks old when he clearly wanted his hands out) and had white noise (still use that). DS also had reflux issues so I put towels under one side of his mattress to elevate it since he wasn't comfortable flat on his back.

If your LO is sleeping swaddled now, then you should continue to swaddle in the crib. It's completely safe. You have to stop swaddling once the baby learns to roll over because then she will need her arms to be safe. When you're ready to stop swaddling, you can go cold turkey or start with one arm out for a few nights. I knew DS was ready when he'd spend energy overnight working to get his hands out of the swaddle, so he stopped sleeping as well. Once I let him have his arms, he slept better than ever!
