How To Save A Poopy Diaper?
i'm calling the doc tomorrow about Emma & me....
long story short - the last 2 nights she's been screaming/crying/inconsolable for at LEAST 3-4 hours (3 hours tonight, 4 last night). She hasn't projectiled since Saturday - but i'd still like some answers...
i'm getting nervous for myself and how i'm handling all of this...so i want to see them for me and talk to someone professionally & possibly get some kind of med to make me calm down as i'm not reacting well to everything (and the fact that i'm on steroids is NOT helping at all)...
i also want to bring in a poopy diaper for her stool to be tested and now to the point of this thread. How do i do that? Do i just take her poopy diaper, throw it in a sandwich bag and leave it on the counter? Do i put it in a bag and put it in the fridge (to keep fresh??)?
Does anyone have any ideas???

Re: How To Save A Poopy Diaper?
Well, I would recommend maybe getting a sterile cup (like the kinds you use for a urine sample) and put a little poopie in their and keep it in the fridge. That's what the vet tells me to do with the dog poop when they need a sample so I'm guessing it would pretty much be the same protocol for human poop.

hmmmmmmmmmm - i'll have to see if i have any more of those cups hiding in the bathroom...i don't know that i do. I know i HAD one and i tossed it - but i might have another...
thank you for the suggestion! now all i need is for her to poop - which, because i need it, i think we can BANK on her not doing it.

Re: How To Save A Poopy Diaper?
I was always dropping off diapers.
once he poops, i carefully fold up diaper so its not a huge mess when nurse re-opens it.
then I put it in grocery bag.
I would run it to doctors, drop it off, they would call me within the hour.
if I had an appt that day, I would always save the latest diaper.
so, you always have one.
keep a diaper, next time she goes, toss old and save new.
good luck!

Re: How To Save A Poopy Diaper?
When I brought a stool sample to the Dr I bagged a diaper and they told me to put it in the fridge.

Re: How To Save A Poopy Diaper?
I bring them often to the doctor....I wrap it up neatly, then bag it in a ziploc. The doctor has never told me to refrigerate it, but it probably can't hurt, though I don't think I am going to be able to put a dirty diaper in my refrigerator.

This is a very good question, I always wondered about this too!
I agree with the pp, I don't know if I would want to put a dirty diaper in the fridge

I rolled up the diaper and put it in a ziploc bag. I used DS's latest diaper before his doctor's appointment.
