How tall does grass have to be...
before the town can tell you that you have to mow it? Is that an actual law? I'm in the Town of Oyster Bay and, no joke, our neighbors' dandelions are 2 feet high. Can we/the town do something about it?
ETA: Will they know that I called the town if I call to complain? I'm also upset because a pest van pulled up outside their house yesterday, so I can only imagine what is living in their jungle of a backyard.

I am not sure if there is a time frame or a law, but my parents' neighbor always gets the town called on him. They come and mow his lawn for him and stick him with the bill. The live in Town of Hempstead.

Oyster Bay is hardcore with rules. I'd guarantee that if you called the town you would have a result.

We are in an incorporated village so it is likely much more strict, but we got a letter a few weeks after we bought our house which we were waiting on permits for to do a gut renovation...it was definitely much less than a foot tall.
It didn't say who filed the complaint but I always wonder, now that we know all the neighbors and they tell us they are so happy we fixed up the house!
