How strict is Costco?
I usually pop in to Costco with my mom since I only go maybe once every couple of months but she's on vacation out of country (how dare she?  ) My dad said he left his costco id + amex (with his picture on it) on his nightstand. Can I go with DH and make a purchase (in cash) using my dad's Costco ID? For the record, they look nothing alike. LOL. My dad is 60, DH is 28.
ETA: Costco, Hauppauge.. In case that makes a difference.

Honestly probably not..my husband ran into Costco once with my father in laws card to buy baby wipes and they wouldn't let him even with cash.. The lady behind us bought them for us cause really it was one lousy thing and my husband has the same name as my fil! We have since joined ourselves lol.

My mom and I used to have the same exact name and they wouldn't let me use her card even though the names matched up. Get the day pass.

I will say that a few times I have been to costco and a person who has a card did not match it, so they would not let them buy the items. I am in NJ and that has happened at two different costco locations. I offered to let them use my card, and the clerk yelled at me.

How strict is Costco?
I think it honestly depends on the Costco. When I go to the one in Brooklyn they give me a really hard time using DH's business Amex even though we have the same last name and both have Costco cards. When I go to the one in Westbury when I'm on LI they don't even glance at my card or check my credit card. I think you will probably be fine, the pictures on the cards are not that great anyway.

They use to if you were never a memeber or used a day pass before. Guess they stopped it.

I've had my BJs card for a long time, and I don't look anything like my own card, so I doubt there would be an issue at Costco.
I do enjoy some day ass, though....
BJs and day ass.... I like this thread....

We tried using my fil's card, the cashier said next time you can't use someone else's card, so she knew but let it slide thankfully

You should be fine but it depends on the cashier and if they take that much notice. They never look at my pic though.
A colleague said that one time she tried to use her mother's card & they made her leave the stuff & took the card.

MY husband has a card, but I don't (he's on his dad's business account). I tried to get a few things once with his card and was denied at the register. I said it was my husband's card, he was in the car with the baby and he said go out an get him or I can't ring you up. I just left.
