how old were your twins when your third was born?

I have almost 22 month old b/g twins. It took me years and 6 ivf cycles to get pregnant. We got a very very very unexpected surprise and I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. My twins will be 2yrs3mos when this one arrives. I'm kind of freaking LOL...I feel like they are still so little and at times I wonder how I am going to do it. Please share your experiences and any helpful hints ??

how old were your twins when your third was born?

DS was born 3 weeks after their 2nd birthday. It's crazy, insane, nuts but also has some sweet moments. I just wish they were potty trained!

Re: how old were your twins when your third was born?

i had the opposite experience as you. my twins were my 3rd pregnancy. DD was just two months shy of her 5th birthday and DS was two months from his 3rd birthday when the twin boys arrived. i have to be honest with you, the first few months were a complete whirlwind. it was really tough balancing the needs of the older ones ---newborns' needs are immediate (i.e. "Feed me NOW!") where the older two longed for structured time with Mommy. it was hard. looking back, while I had some help in the very beginning, it wasn't structured in terms of time. people came when they could. if you can, see if people that come to help (i.e. grandma or whomever) can specfically take a specific twin or both of them and do something special with them (even just play) to give you some time with the baby uninterrupted and also vice versa. this way, you can be sure you've given each child some of the time they deserve, because otherwise it's just survival. GOOD LUCK! feel free to FM. been there... and still there! (Twins are 9 months now).

My twins were 17 months old when their little brother was born. I'm not gonna lie. It was very hard (it still is!). I was very lucky and my 3rd was/is the most easygoing baby. He slept so much the first 2 months and just woke to eat (my twins never did that!!! They barely ever slept). He was a dream which was great because it was such a tough age with them.

One of them adored the baby and the other was super jealous. I think the most stressful thing was I couldn't leave the baby alone with them in the same room for even a second. You can never trust what they will do. So if I had to leave the room to go to the kitchen, the bathroom, laundry, the baby came with me.

There were times all 3 would cry. DH came home one day and all 3 were crying and so was I.Chat Icon It was a rough day. Just take help when it is offered!!! Congrats!

My twins were 20 months old when my DS was born. In the beginning it was rough for me because I was sick. After I got better it was a breeze until at about 16 months when DS started walking/running and I had three toddlers running in different directions. The twins are 4 and DS is 2.5 now and it's still rough. They all still run in different directions and none of them listen. I am a SAHM and we don't go anywhere during the week because they are all runners and very rambunctious. There are many times, like today, that DH will find me crying at the kitchen sink because I'm very overwhelmed. It's hard right now, but the three of them are super close and it has gotten slightly easier. Once you get Into a routine you'll be fine. Congratulations :)

I have pretty much the same thing my b/g twins were 26 months when my 3rd was born.

The beginning was easier. Once my 3rd started walking, climbing and just getting into everything it got harder. It's just nonstop someone always needs something.

I think key is getting out of the house! Finding things that you can do alone with all 3 (unless you have help).
I have a triple jogger so I can go for walks/runs.
When my 3rd was a newborn we walked up to the park a lot and he stayed in the stroller
Or baby carrier while my older 2 played.

I'm not going to lie its not "easy" but manageable

My dh and I keep saying 5 and 3 should be better for so many reasons!

Congrats!
