Lola was almost 5ms old and was spaded at exactly 6mos. I have no patience for a 8-16 wk old so I went for almost 20wks and she was trained in 2 days.. What a breeze.. I needed her to be able to go outside right away.. She had all of her shots by then..HtH

My pup isn't neutered yet bc he's only 4 months... the vet said that around the 5-6 month mark is standard.

my vet wants us to wait until he is full grown unless he starts peeing all over the house. we plan on neutering him at 9-10 months.

Misty was 8 months old when we got her, not spayed....she was mostly housebroken and crate-trained.
We had her spayed as soon as we got her and began the true housebreaking shortly after.
We got her through a rescue from a couple that couldn't handle her.

Denver & Holden were both about 15 weeks when we got them & we had them neutered when they were about 6 months old. Bella was 5 y/o when we got her and spayed.

We got him at nine months, not neutered, he's 13 months now. He will not be neutered until he's 18 months and/or fully grown.
We did research on this subject and found studies that our breed (Labrador) could benefit from neutering only after his growth plates have closed. That the chemicals being used in the body before neuter are beneficial to joints like hips and elbows that can become potential problems for him. We plan on having him xrayed in June, blood taken, and as long as his plates have closed, doing the snip-snip.
His energy level and temperament are great, so I don't see many other reasons to rush into it. We are extremely diligent on only letting him socialize with dogs that are fixed and keeping him under control so he's not running off somewhere.

We got her at 9 weeks, just got her spayed at 8 months - we adopted her and it took a few weeks to get in touch with the agency and their vet so that we could get it paid for by them.

we were thinking of doing the same thing to wait til our male is fully grown...do you remember where you researched? i would like to see if there is anything specific for my breed...thanks!!!

I cant quite remember but it was in between 6-8 months old.
When I do it again, I will not wait so long. He was a holy terror until he was neutered.

I'm also a member of breed specific forum where there are a lot of professional breeders, and I've gotten the benefit of their advice. The subject comes up very often. Joining that forum was one of the best things I did. If you can find a good active one for your breed, I'd highly recommend it. 
Funny thing, this weekend Brinkley had a playdate and I got to see firsthand how his previous extremely submissive behavior has changed. He was playing with a submissive dog, male, and it was really evident how things have changed!! I knew he couldn't be trusted around unspayed females before, and he's definitely not to be trusted now!

We got Teemu from a shelter in IN, where I guess they have alot of overpopulation problems. He was less than 2 months old and already neutered!

my dachshund was 8 months after he had all of his shots (he was 6 months when i got him), my jack was around 4 years old when we adopted him and they did it before he came home and my pit was around 1 when we adopted her and they did it for us.
