How old was your older child when you stopped using the double stroller?

DS#1 is now 4. Most of our friends who have kids the same age and no sibling do not use a stroller. We still use our double all the time. 4yo DS can walk but it is easier to get places when the 2 kids are contained in the stroller.

We currently have the double city mini and it is pretty beat up. I want to get a new double but DH thinks we won't be using a double much longer.

My sons are 3y3m apart. I never had a double stroller so I guess he stopped using a stroller when his brother was born. If we are going someplace with a lot of walking such as Disney or the zoo we bring two strollers. Otherwise ds1 walks

I would not buy another stroller - IMO 4 is the cutoff of when a kid should be in a stroller.

I wouldn't buy another double. My boys are 3.5 and 4.5 and given the opportunity will gladly hop in a double stroller but I would not get a new one at this point because they are old enough at 4 to be walking.

I would hold on to your double for a while longer and then just retire it. We just got back from a disney and I rented a double city mini. It was perfect for the day, but I can't see using one after enough to warrant buying a new one. My DC are 3 years apart and I never even had a double.

My son was just about four years old when he stopped using the double stroller. I would not get a new double stroller at this point.

When I worked as a Nanny, the oldest kid I had was 5 and he still went in the double stroller when we were out for a while. He was small enough to fit in it and I had no complaints when we were out for a long time. Walks to the park or out for the day. I would hold onto it and use it until it doesn't work anymore. My sons stroller holds up to 75 pounds and as long as he fits in it, we will use it for long outings...

My older DS just turned 4 and we still use it for some things. If we go to big placed like the mall and I have my 4 yr old and almost 2 yr old together. Plan on bringing it to Disney and Aruba when we go next year.
If I just have my 4 yr old then I don't take any stroller.
Although when my 4 yr old walks I use his side of the stroller for bags, extra jackets, etc.
Basically use yours for a bit longer then retire it.

I have same ages (4 year old & 1 year old) and my 4 year old does sometimes still ask to go in the stroller. I don't mind, its much easier to get around.

I only use the double for big places like Tanger, or something. I don't even think I'll use it in Sesame this summer. In fact my 4 year old likes it more than my 1 year old.

I wouldn't get another one as you are on borrowed time with it.
