How old was/is your dc when you really started consistently with potty training ?
Ds is 16 mnths he understands pee pee poo poo and even sets the potty up on the toilet but when he sits he just plays reads talks and then the min I take him off to put a diaper on he goes any suggestions? Am I making myself crazy is he too young is this too soon?

That is around the time I started dd. I would just sit her on it 5 mins a day not consistently at any specific time. A She just turned 19 months and she goes 95 poop on the potty and only 50 pee on the potty. I am going to try and take a 3 day period and just do it cold turkey within the next month. Also I let her wear undies around the house and I find she doesn't like it whe. She pees in her undies. Good luck

I think there is a lot that goes in to potty training, and I would never put the pressure on myself with a 16 month old.
The child needs to be able to communicate that they have to go to the bathroom.
The child also needs to be able to learn to hold it for longer periods of time.
I could never imagine training someone that young, but I'm sure it has been done. Give it a try and see how it goes.
