How often does your 3 year old go to school? 2 or 3 days?

I'm debating about what type of program to put DS in. I feel like 2 days is fine but is 3 more the norm? He'll be turning 3 in August so I guess I just feel like 3 days is a lot for him. I don't want him behind his peers though. What are you doing?

I think it depends a little bit on what your munchkin does besides school -

We were going to have our little guy attend school 3 half days but decided to do three full days because he was never around other kids his age- no neighbors, play dates, cousins. We did the once a week library class thing and the once a week at little gym but felt he needed more interaction

Academically speaking we weren't concerned but for social interactions sake, we are glad we Upped it

2. They will be in school for the rest of their lives, the extra day isn't going to make or break them IMO.

My ds will be doing 5 full days as of September.

DS also born in August did 3 half days.
The program is allowing us to do 3 half days at 4 as well.
With all the random vacations, days off & snow days last year... It actually wasn't that much (and you will be surprised how well your kid will handle going).
IMO, I bet all of this won't make a huge difference long term, So do what your heart says.

I will be sending him 3 days. I wont be working next yr as I will be home with our new LO but his school does a min of 3 days and I love his school. DS LOVES school and honestly I would send him 5 days bc he loves it so much but I feel like it is too much money to do with me home and not working

Aubrey did 2 days a week last school year. She wasn't 3 until Jan, so she had to start in a 2 year old program. Now that she'll be in a 3 year old class, she'll go 3 days a week. DD also loves school and is currently doing 3 days with camp and seems fine with it.

dd just finished her 3y program and she went 2x a week. it was perfect for her.

Aubrey did 2 days a week last school year. She wasn't 3 until Jan, so she had to start in a 2 year old program. Now that she'll be in a 3 year old class, she'll go 3 days a week. DD also loves school and is currently doing 3 days with camp and seems fine with it. My nephew, however, who just turned 3 and didn't do a 2 year old class, is starting with only 2 days. My SIL felt like she wanted to ease him into it.

DS did 2 half days last school year (he started in September and turned 3 in November- so he was the youngest one in his 3 year old program).
This September he'll start the 4 year old class 3 half days a week (9-11:30), and turn 4 in November.
it really us up to you, and what you feel like he needs. I don't think the extra half day is going to make a HUGE difference at this age. But if you don't do much else, it will be good for socializing. In our case, DS is an only child, he has no cousins yet to play with, i'm home with him and our friends with kids all work FT so its hard to get together with them during the week. So he had a few playdates here and there, but not too much. so he needs the extra day for socializing, plus it helped us meet more moms/kids to have playdates with.

My dd turned 3 in June and she will be doing two mornings a week starting in September. I figured two was a good place to start for her, as she has not done anything alone before. I'm thinking if she enjoys it we will up it to up it to days in the winter or spring

DD will be 3 in September and will go for 2 half days. I feel like 2 is enough, but it's not like 3 days is overwhelming. If you think about it, the majority of kids that age or younger are in daycare 5 full days, and most incorporate school into each day.
I liked 2 days because it gives her time for dance class, gymnastics and playdates.

I think it really comes down to personal preference for your child, there's no right or wrong, or too much or not enough with 2 or 3 days. At 3 years old, he's not going to fall behind

DS went to school 2 days a week for 3 hrs each day. He actually started when he was 2 and turned 3 the end of November.

DD geos 5 full days but that's also because I use it as daycare. I get to work from home 3 days a week (I stay home with DS) and I still send her in full time; mostly cause trying to work with her home can be a pain but because she really learns a lot and I think its great for her. I will soon be sending DS full time

I had only wanted to do 2 days at 3. We ended up having to do 3. It doesn't really make a difference. Do what works best for you. I agree they are in school long enough.

DS will be 3 in September.

He goes 2 days right now (T, TH).

We tried to get him in 3 days but the school was full. I will get him in 3 days next year.

My twins are 3.5 and are starting preschool in september. They will go for 2 school days for 2.5 hours each day. Then I signed them up for an extra day of fun activities for 2.5 hours while I do a mommy and me with my 2 year old. So 2 school days and 1 fun day through the school. Next year will probably be the same.

DD went 3 days, 2.5 hours a day. It was perfect, she loved it, and if the 5 day program wasn't so much $$$ I would have done that instead. She was 3.5 when she started (March birthday).

My DD will be 3 in November and she is going 5 days. Last year she went 2 days a week in a 2s program. She loved it!
