How often do you wash your hair?

I really try not to wash my hair everyday because I know it's not great to do, but I really can't help it.

A. I don't know how to shower without washing my hair.. I never feel clean if I don't. Are you supposed to wet it but just not shampoo it? Maybe just conditioner which I would think might make it more oily? I'm so clueless

B. My hair feels/looks oily if I go more than 12 hours without washing it.

I figure it takes time for your hair to get used to not being washed everyday without getting oily.. but how long does it actually take?

Also, how do people go to the gym and then not wash their hair? I usually sweat like a freak and HAVE to wash it!

If I leave it straight then I won't wash it for 2 days, but if I'm leaving my hair curly I put products in it so I will wash it daily then.

You can try just conditioning the ends of your hair inbetween instead of washing it daily.

I do every day and have no problems with it being too dry.

Why not do it every day if it's working for you? I read that you really should wash hair after gym, but if you aren't working out they recommend a shower cap and the dry shampoo stuff that's a powder.

Every other day...sometimes an extra day if I didn't use any kind of greasy product in my hair.

For the shower, I just pile my hair on top of my head in a bun. Sometimes it gets misted...but I usually wind up flat ironing the "bang" pieces anyway so that eliminates any frizz.

I don't have a problem washing it everyday.. I mean my hair isn't dry or anything... People just always tell me I should skip a day inbetween...

You should Its not good to wash ur hair everyday..My hair lady told me that this weekend too.

Every other day in the winter (less static). Everyday in the summer.

Oh and a little tip for those who sometimes have greasy hair. If you put some baby powder in your hands (getting the bulk off) and rub your hands through your hair it absorbs the grease and you can go a day without washing.

I HAVE to wash my hair everyday. If I don't I feel SOOO dirty. I feel that my face is more oily too. The only time I don't wash my hair the next day is when I have it colored or if I'm getting an updo.

every 2/3 days if I blow it out. If I just pull it back and let it dry its every other day.

I wash my hair 3 times a week.. usually I blow dry it on the first day.. it looks better down on the second day.. and then by the third I could wash it and start all over.. or just wear it up b/c the little bit of oils actually makes it look nicer in a ponytail.. but I would say my hair is on the drier side.. it never gets really oily like a lot of other people's

If I'm not washing my hair in the shower, I just wrap it up in a towel and go about my buisness as usual

my hair is fine but curly so it's hard not to wash it every day - it gets very greasy very quickly. i usually use a light shampoo and conditioner like suave, but if i am going to blow it straight, instead of shampooing, i will wet it and "lather" with a deep conditioner instead to keep it healthy. it rinses clean and is pretty much just as effective as using shampoo and conditioner.

Every single day. Sometimes 2x a day. It's a grease ball when I wake up, so I need to shower first thing.

I have thick hair, so I wash it every other day~ Always looks better the next day!

When I shower, I use a shower cap on the day I dont wash my hair and I am still able to go under the water~ DH HATES my shower caps and thinks by throwing them out I will stop using them, but I stock up, especially when I stay over in a hotel

I color my hair red so I wash it every 2 days to keep the color. On the second day I use PSST ( reallt AWESOME dry shampoo) at the roots to keep it full.

I highly recommend this stuff!

If I straighten it, I wash on the third day (ie, blow out on Monday, wash it Thursday...but it NEEDS to be washed at that point).

Otherwise, I shampoo every other wash.
