how often do you pump at work/nurse at home
i want to try to get into what i would do once i return to work in terms of pumping (and giving her bottles) and nursing at night.
she's 7 weeks now.. and she'll be 12 weeks when i go back, so i know it will slightly change.

how often do you pump at work/nurse at home
I went back when DS was 4 months old. Here was my schedule: 5:30 am - pump 6:20 am - nurse 9 am - pump 12 pm - pump 4 pm - never ending nursing session.... 7 pm - nurse to sleep 9pm-5am - nurse DS a million times cause he was/is not a good sleeper.
You need to pump whatever your Lo is drinking when you are away. My DS drank 16 ounces in 9 hours. I pumped before work since I could easily pump 8-10 ounces and then didn't feel quite as stressed during work. Initially I was pumping at 3pm and not before work, but I was barely making enough milk.
I was able to ease up on pumping when DS was 8-9 months old since he was getting some nutrients from table food by then.

Re: how often do you pump at work/nurse at home
by 12 weeks when i went back my LO was nursing 5-6 times a day and sleeping through the night. A typical 9-5 work day I would have been pumping 3x, like around 9am, 12pm and 3pm and I would nurse in the morning when LO woke up and again before bed. I nursed on demand and this schedule was the demand... i think i got lucky with a pretty non demanding EBF baby. Pretty much stuck to nursing/taking a bottle every 2.5-3 hours and from 12 weeks until a year was getting 4oz in those bottles when i was at work.
i added an evening extra pump around 9 or 10pm after LO was asleep to make up any ounces i didn't pump during the work day, so i was always pumping at least as many ounces as were consumed in bottles each day to maintain my supply.

What the hell I'll answer even tho I'm a sahm lol
5am dh gives dd a bottle (he's up getting ready for work anyway) 6am(ish) I wake up and pump. I'm engorged from the whole night so I easily pump about 15oz. Goes right into a freezer stash 8am nurse 12pm nurse 4pm nurse 730pm nurse 10pm pump before I go asleep. Sometimes earlier if I'm exhausted
Sometimes I pump instead of nurse if I'm running around and it's just easier

I can't believe you're on such an awesome schedule at 4 months - I'm so jealous. Even now at 18 months, there are days DS would nurse all day if I let him #nevergoingtoselfwean

Lol. For the very beginning I had her on a 3 hour schedule. I would wake her up to nurse her.

Re: how often do you pump at work/nurse at home
I bf in the morning before work around 6am, then pump at work around 9am, noon, & 3 pm, then bf around 5:30 when I get home from work, then at least one more time before he goes to sleep around 9. Sometimes during the night if he wakes up also, once or twice at most usually. I never pump at home.

how often do you pump at work/nurse at home
I was an exclusive pumper so not sure how much this helps.. but I was pumping 4 times a day when I went back to work at 3 months..I would pump in the am before leaving for work and then I would pump when I took lunch and then once again before I left work and then my last pump would be before bed. With my first DD I was pumping more like 5 times a day at 3 months but I didn't go back to work until 6 months so I was at 4 pumps a day by then.
