How often are you eating fish?

My RE said once every 3 weeks I've never heard that before though and I feel like it's pretty extreme.

In the past I was told twice a week is fine as long as it's not high mercury fish and to avoid tile fish and shark completely. I still need to ask my peri what I should be doing.

What were you ladies told?

I was told to avoid all high mercury fish 100%. He told me I could eat other stuff (salmon, flounder, talapia) within reason. Tuna he said to only eat once or twice a week.

I have an aversion to fish this pregnancy for some reason. I can handle shrimp and canned tuna but I eat those once a month, if that. With my prior two pregnancies, I'd eat fish once a week, avoiding high mercury fish.

I was told high mercury fish once a week is fine, all other fish, have at it.

New York is VERY strict with restrictions on food. I have been pregnant in two states now, and I wasn't told not to eat a quarter of what is on the NY list.

Thankfully I can't stomach anything that comes from the ocean, even when I'm not pregnant. But I was told the high mercury ones were the ones to avoid.

I haven't really eaten fish fish.. just some shrimp and calamari here and there! thats it really , oh an Lobster too!! lol

My OB told me to avoid ALL tuna, he wants me to play it safe..... it figures since I was craving it like a mad woman these past few weeks and can't have any!! So, I've been sticking with low mercury fish and indulging probably twice a week (last week I had cod and then the next night I had shrimp).

I don't eat fish regularly although my doc aaid ot was perfectly ok to have it once a week and I'm allergic to shellfish so that's kind of good in a way lol

That does sound a bit extreme. I wonder why he recommended that.

I was told no shark or swordfish at all, and then to limit all other fish like salmon, shellfish, talapia etc to 2x a week. There was a stipulation with tuna but I forgot what it was.

Maybe a few times a month... my doctor said to avoid eating anything high in mercury more than 1x a week.
