How much water do you drink?
I don't think I drink enough water each day. The weekends are even worse than the weekdays b/c I am not sitting at a desk all day. Is it bad if I am not drinking 8 glasses a day?

My doctors and their nurses stress the issue of water intake all the time.

i heard 6-8 oz for every hour you are awake. i was not a huge water drinker before being preggo, but it seems like i cannot get enough of water and seltzer now --- i am always thirsty!!

probably not enough. I drink about 3-4 bottles of poland spring while I am at work and then I drink Crystal Light at home that is made with ater so I hope that counts too!

honestly, I would try to force myself to drink a lot of water but then I would feel so much worse and get heartburn... I would say, listen to your body and drink whenever you are thirsty... also, try and take sips during the day instead of forcing yourself to drink a whole glass right away...

I agree with taking sips here and there. I drink copious amonts of water and did before I was PG. I probably drink about 2 gallons per day of plain water. Then I also drink other things. I can't get enough. But I found out that it might be a side effect of my pituitary tumor. Oh well.

every time i go to the doctor i get the lecture that i am not drinking enough water. i have fixed this by not drinking anything but water. since water is now my only option i seem to be doing much better on what i am drinking.

I don't even come close to drinking enough water. I just can't do it. As said above it was easier while at work but at home I never remember. I hope iced tea counts because I do drink that!

I hate water. Before I was pregnant I didnt drink any water. Now I make sure that I drink 6 glasses (8 oz) a day. I feel guilty because I know I should drink at least 8 glasses, rather than six...but it is really hard to do and it is such an effort to get the 6 glasses a day in. I even measure it out just to be sure that I am getting at least that amount.

it is very important to drink and stay hydrated! it can lead to premature labor.
with DS i certainly did NOT drink enough...I kept forgetting because I was running around after DD

I think I am doing very good. I drink a glass in the am, 64 oz while at work (I use a waterbottle that I make sure I finish before I leave for the day), then on average 2 more at night.

I hated water before my pregnancy but the doctor kept stressing how important it was - especially when my ketones where coming back high. I drank about 3 liters everyday and it made a huge difference.

I think it sounds more than it is. Its like 8 bottles of Aquafina sized water bottles. Over the course of the whole day its not too hard, especially in the summer.

Can I ask a stupid question. My doctors have not really stressed water to me, I was just told to drink a lot of it. Why do we need so much water? Is it so we don't get dehydrated? Any other reason?

Same here. It can cause problems if you don't so try very hard.

Just as a side note.....Aquafina has been in the news lately because they get their water from a public water supply--AKA tap water.

I know I don't drink enough water. On the weekends I think I get in the 8 glasses each day, but Mon-Fri if I get in 3 that's a lot.
I can say that if I feel the slightest cramp in my stomach and I drink even a small plastic cup of water I immediately feel better.
