How much to install ceiling lights?

We have a high ranch and none of the rooms upstairs (all 3 bedrooms) have ceiling lights.

Anyone know what it would cost for an electrician to install ceiling lights?

Would high hats be better, easier or less expensive?

Recommend your electrician if you have one!

DH installed hi-hats in each of the rooms himself. Since there is nothing above the rooms except the attic crawl space, he was able to get up there and cut holes and install the canisters. Just make sure your using the ones that can be put in with insulation surrounding it. He re-wired all the outlets so they worked without being connected to the light switch and ran new romex (sp?) down to the switches for the lighting.

Not sure how much an electrician would have charged, I guess we saved a bundle because DH did it himself.
