how much is flood insurance?
possibly looking at a house south of merrick road, and am pretty sure it would need flood. so... how much do you pay? (FM me if too private)

Look on the FEMA website and you can see if the area is a flood area. Some areas you think might be aren't. There are also different levels of flooding and that will make a difference in what insurance will cost.

Here is a range for you.
From where you are stating location....
seems like you are in a flood zone.
Flood pol in a flood zone range from $1000 and up.
Fema rates went up.

it looks like south of merrick road is another area i have to avoid.
UGH! this is frustrating!
SO, can someone tell me, if there is no color on the map, does that mean that NO flood insurance is necessary?

I'm south of Merrick Road in Nassau County and we pay $431 a year for flood insurance through State Farm.

Or are you paying 2k for just flood, and then your homeowners insurance on top of that?

If you are in a flood zone x,c, or b, you will get a prefereed rate which is usually about $400 for full 250,000/100,000 coverage.
Any other flood zone is standard and will be $1300 and up depending on the zone. Just cause you are South of Merrick doesn't mean you are in a standard flood zone

no, I pay homeowner's on top of that $500/yr
