Flood insurance?

We are in the process of closing on a house. we haev to complete a few things first. HOw do I know if I need flood insurance? does someone usually take care of seeing if I am in a flood zone?

ask your contracter. they should be able to tell you what to watch out for!

Your insurance agent/broker would be able to tell you if you're in a flood zone.
You can FM me the address and I'll let you know.

I meant to say the engineer contractor you hired to inspect the home.

When we applied for Home owners insurance they informed us that we would need the flood insurance too, due to the location of our house. I believe they can tell just based upon your address.
